Brakeline Heatshield

Recommended Posts

Failed a cert on brakelines not being shielded within 100mm of headers/exhaust on the Impala.

The lines are run on the factory route however   along the top of the chassis rail.

But anyway need to find someway to shield it,

My main requirement is want something that looks tidy as the engine bay is tidy.

Thoughts?

Is there shiny stuff in your engine bay?

A polished up sheet of very thin stainless works well, just need an air gap between hot side and cold side. (Dont have it hard up against one thing or the other)

But hard to say whether that's suitable without pics of where it needs to go.

If you really want a clean looking engine bay then remaking the brake hard line might be the best option.

Could you coat the exhaust in ceramic coating (HPC) or alternatively header wrap?

Yes i could but gone to the expense of buying stainless headers/exhaust dont really want to cover them in heat  shield haha

Could work yeah, would need to check with cert guy i guess?
