MRWEST
Failed a cert on brakelines not being shielded within 100mm of headers/exhaust on the Impala. The lines are run on the factory route however along the top of the chassis rail. But anyway need to find someway to shield it, My main requirement is want something that looks tidy as the engine bay is tidy. Thoughts? tortron
Machine some circles into some alloy sheet with a wire brush on a drill. Very 60's custom
Roman
Is there shiny stuff in your engine bay? A polished up sheet of very thin stainless works well, just need an air gap between hot side and cold side. (Dont have it hard up against one thing or the other) But hard to say whether that's suitable without pics of where it needs to go. If you really want a clean looking engine bay then remaking the brake hard line might be the best option.
tortron
White padded leather would also be acceptable, as long as you pad the wheel wells too
MRWEST
Engine bay below, They do run close along the headers, but remaking them probably isnt really that easy/possible without going up under front guard or something?
MRWEST
Probably need to get a better pic tonight of the route along the side of the headers
Seedy Al
yeah this is common. worst case make something that works for a cert and remove afterward But, that is not ideal really, as the idea is that they are meant to work.
KKtrips
Could you coat the exhaust in ceramic coating (HPC) or alternatively header wrap?

Beaver
Could you not just get a nice little length of s/s cut and bend up to go over top of the brake line in the affected area?
