cletus
Interested to hear of Bilstein woes. In my experiences they make a solid shock. usually the shocks on their own are ok, have seen a few leaky ones but they can be repaired. have looked at a lot of bilstein kits for specific models that have springs that are too soft, leading to the spring coils binding, usually on euro stuff like audi/vw/bmw one was a set in a bmw z3 that wasnt adjustable, had bilstein springs and shocks, and it had 10mm of bump travel and a few cases of shocks bottoming out before the bumpstop limits the travel- in a macpherson strut application, to be fair they had been repaired so that may have been the fault of the workshop fitting the wrong length insert

Bling
TBH, you aren't going to get a "quality" coil over for $1500, but you will get one that is more than capable of doing the job you require. I would get some Fortune Auto ones if I was you/ had your price range. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/suspension-braces/auction-762736346.htm Dem be some nice shocks. He also sells his own brand of coil overs and might be able to knock something up? Site only lists FD, but worth asking anyway. http://www.mrpltd.co.nz/product/260/rx7-fd3s.html

Snoozin
Those are not Fortune Auto. The MRP brand ones are standard spec China coilovers.
Bling
You say that like it's a bad thing (China). You don't rate the MRP coilovers?
