J-W-G
The cortina's engine seems to tick over and has spark but there is no ignition. What i have done -Replaced battery -Cleaned all elec terminals - Free flow filter What it does -It has a little rumble when i spray crc engine start in it but dosent actually ignite, could this be a fuel pump/carb problem? Benno
if you pull a plug is it wet at all? Is the spark a bright blue colour or is it more orange?

Goat
Sounds like no fuel. Should run on engine start though. Could suggest timing is a bit wrong too. Poor a shot glass of petrol right down your carb and see if that gets it running for a few seconds.
Rookie
Dribble some petrol down the carb and see what happens.
tortron
electric fuel pump? getting power and ticking? id check that fuel is getting pumped, then see if its getting into the carb (i.e float bowl) and that no filters are blocked along the way is the free flow filter an air filter? Mr. Mainstream
replace or temporarily remove fuel fitler. i had similar problem once when drove with next to no fuel. sucked up crap at bottom of tank and blocked up outlet of the filter. worth a shot.
