Roman Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 What was best time of the day @ajg193 ? Good to meet you, and hearty pat on the back for coming all that way and back. Impressive! Quote
ajg193 Posted December 28, 2020 Author Posted December 28, 2020 Best time was just 18.8 this time, last time I managed 18.7 on one run - I'm going to have to blame the strong headwind for the poor time. The new tyres were always spinning off the line as well, last time it would just grip and go. My average time was a lot better than last time though, I think I struggled to crack into the 18's last time, while this time the only runs I did slower than 18.9 were during the DYO I wonder if maybe tightening up the valve clearances would help a bit. 3 Quote
Valiant Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 @ajg193 if the rack adjusting pad is too tight the steering won't self center out of turns etc. Your car will be like driving a forklift. Is it not driving like that and doesn't have lots of play you got the adjustment right. 1 Quote
ajg193 Posted September 4, 2021 Author Posted September 4, 2021 It's driving absolutely perfectly, self centres and no play 1 Quote
ajg193 Posted September 4, 2021 Author Posted September 4, 2021 Wants to hold centre more than it used to though, kind of like a modern car 1 Quote
Jo_Rolla Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 My rack has the exact same issue. I also narrowed it down to the bush. Have then proceeded to leave it for 5+ years. You've got me thinking now. 2 Quote
ajg193 Posted September 12, 2021 Author Posted September 12, 2021 Might be worth trying to adjust the rack guide first and see if that makes a difference to the steering. But yeah, not having the clunking bush is lush. Except now all the interior rattles sound worse 1 Quote
