They need different senders. Light is a on/off switch. Gauge is a variable sender.

Someone smarter than might prove me wrong tho.

 

No you're pretty smart.  Light is a switch and gauge is a variable sender.  You could do some electronics that say when variable sender has a certain signal level fire up a warning light.  Some flash gauges can do the warning stuff in the gauge I think.

 

Brass tee piece, switch sender and gauge sender.
