flyingbrick
What do people recommend I read or who should I ask about this. The gem is about to get a simple alteration but I need to know it won't fuck shit up.
glen
Carroll Smith has a bunch of good race car books. Tune to win has a bunch of geometry stuff. Mainly to suit race cars, but the gist is going to be the same
Snoozin
How To Make Your Car Handle, by Fred Puhn. Great read, still available new I believe.
ProZac
Chassis Engineering, by Herb Adams. Was available from Pace Publications when I bought it, can probably find it on ebay though. http://www.pace.net.nz/
flyingbrick
Thanks all, time to warm up the credit card
anglia4
I've found this one pretty good (Competition Car Suspension - Staniforth) http://www.amazon.com/Competition-Car-Suspension-Practical-Handbook/dp/1844253287/ref=pd_sim_b_1 Can also vouch for Tune to Win, and Chassis Engineering being good books. And if you are real keen there is always Race Car Vehicle Dynamics - Miliken http://www.amazon.com/Race-Vehicle-Dynamics-R146-Publisher/dp/B004XEA3E2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1379883977&sr=8-2&keywords=race+car+vehicle+dynamics But its pretty hard core
flyingbrick
Thanks! I have bought chassis engineering by herb, how to make your car handle by Fred and a book on GM LS swaps all from fishpond. Great pricing. I also found a few available on the apple news stand for like $10 (rather than $30 for the actual book) and nearly bought there instead but then ya can't share! I'm surprised at fishponds catalogue actually- heaps available
durty
fishpond usually is just dropshipping stuff off amazon, so takes awhile to turn up. I usually just order direct off amazon to get stuff sooner
flyingbrick
I did think about that and had a look at prices- I'm pretty sure I saved money going fishpond rather than amazon ( could be wrong!) It just seemed much easier to buy from nz
durty
Yeah, is usuaplly a bit cheaper through fishpond but I am impatient so want it asap

Nominal
Have you looked at www.autospeed.com? There's a lot of stuff there, and I think it is all free to access now. It could use a better system for finding content, I use google with the site:autospeed.com parameter. e.g. http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=2934
mutiny
going by my previous experiences with fishpond you wont be reading those books for quite some time

I think they send me e-mails still- the last one I bothered to open was about DIY timers / DIY water spray controllers part 10 and I yawned. Also tried reading some suspension stuff there but it was all about reverse trike bicycles and was more of a blog Edit: giving AS another go. Looks like they are doing well since my last look
