mjrstar
Also a hijack I have one of these coffee making machines at home - It takes up some bench space, doesn't look particularly cool but requires very little operator input (suits me 1st thing in the morning) http://www.a1coffee.co.uk/index.php/franke-saphira-bean-to-cup-coffee-machine-refurbished.html I am thinking of downsizing to something designed for less than 100 cups / day... You wont save much space. Rancilio Silva are great for home. Can be pimped with temp control, new about $1100, secondhand $500, parts easy to get. Spencer
OK the guy said it needs a motherboard and waterfill solenoid, solenoid is not a problem. Said pump boiler and touch controls all were OK, can't go wrong if I scored it for a hundy? need to research.
Bantam
Motherboards can be expensive. Check out coffeeparts.com.au for prices. I use them and have found them excellent. Also check out coffeesnobs.com.au , forum for all things coffee, good for sale section.
durty
Man the boilers on these are sexy looking, kind of a shame they put covers over them and hide them away. would look so cool all polished up

Thanks for the help.
Bantam
Slow progress this week due to busy time at work. Started to reassemble the back half. Ordered a new element as even though it worked, it was on it's way out. Photos to follow

Truenotch
Probably doesn't run coffee past the outside of the boiler either . You're doing great work sir, carry on!
xsspeed
bump - finished/any progress?
Bantam
bump - finished/any progress? Yeah. Forgot all about this post. Got it all back together and working. Sold it to a coffee roaster in the Coromandal Currently descaling a single group Unic. Have seen these Unic's around but never in the stripped state. Not bad for a Frenchy. You find most machines have all the same pumps and solonids, just the boilers and piping are different.
xsspeed
I'm keeping a lazy eye on a nuova simonelli on trademe atm, its 2 group and 9L boiler - reckon theres a way to change the depth of level sensor to reduce volume without fucking the ability to make coffee?
Bantam
Just change the water level probe length, they all seem similar. In saying that, if you are only making a few coffees, there will be more than enough steam for milk. The water for the shot will come through a HX (heat exchanger) and isnt really adjustable
Bantam
Buy this one for home. i have one the same, never a problem. Have used it for 200 coffees one day. http://www.trademe.co.nz/business-farming-industry/retail-hospitality/kitchen-equipment-supplies/coffee-beverage/auction-830463226.htm
