ex lancer wat!
i am installing a willwood pulltype slave cylinder into my car. it recommends a 3/4 master cylinder and i already have a 5/8 master installed. this means i will be underpowering the slave cylinder. does anyone know what the affects of underpowering the slave will be, will the pedal be softer and will the piston get less stroke? KKtrips
Pedal will be softer and you will get less stroke (most probably not enough stroke for the clutch to disengage)
Brock-Lee
You will have more pedal stroke but less at the slave end. If that's what you meant kk. Hah
Rookie
It will be harder to push the clutch pedal, and you will need to push it further to disengage the clutch.
KKtrips
LOL - you sausage head Dave  What I mean is you will have identical pedal stroke as the pedal will go to the floor whether you have 5/8th or 1 1/16... But yes I did mean less at the slave end - but that's made kinda obvious by the fact that the pedal stroke does not change so it must be the slave end.  But other Dave is right - the pedal will be harder. Rookie
I'mma talking about the range at which it engages/disengages over, so it might be a good thing is you have a really grabby clutch etc.
ex lancer wat!
yes its a 4 puk with heavy duty pressure plate. would anyone know the measurement of how far the release bearing needs to press into the pressure plate for the clutch to disinguage
kpr
the toyota ones i've had done at autoclutch have had "6mm release" written on them.  would likely be something similar  could put it in a press and try it. if its out of the car
eke_zetec_RWD
K-trips is the most correct reply here. Actual clutch bearing movement will change with fork ratio so just try it with what master you have and if not enough go to a bigger master. cubastreet
kk was right first time - pedal will be softer with less travel at the clutch end.
