KKtrips
That looks dayum fine son.. I'm very hesitant to say to grind down your callipers or mounts - it may need 10mm clearance now but when you put new pads in then it will be even more as the calliper moves across when you put new/wider pads in.. (your current pads look about 1/3 to 1/2 worn) I would roll the guards and chuck 15mm spacers at it..
Beaver
hmm yeh thats good thinking about the pads. I have a brand new set so could compare and see....but I think you are right....god dammit. 15mm will give gay poke and look silly
KKtrips
Are you guessing 10mm or have you done some calcs?
Beaver
I have done calcs/spaced the wheels out with washers and 3 washers/10mm worked. I hve a brand new set of pads so will looks how much bigger they are and that might change the picture quite a bit....
KKtrips
Ah OK - where is it touching on the wheel? Is there room to take some out of the wheel? Perhaps find out if there is a smaller calliper bracket - the datsun guys will know for sure..
Beaver
its fouling no the spokes, just outside the flat mounting face. 10mm is a decent chunk to take from there....good thinking re:caliper bracket, will have an ask
KKtrips
Damn - Smaller calliper mount or spacers with rolled guards are your only options son. Grinding off that much could be a bad move.
Beaver
hmmm, there are some brakes on trademe which are apparently 120y and the caliper mount thingy is slightly different so might be worth a shot.

Brock-Lee
That is a fair bit of meat to chop off the caliper. Is 10-15mm going to hurt you thaaat much? It looks to have a bit of clearance to turn still, loaded up around a corner it may touch but just lip the guards and the tyre rubbing on a flat surface will do fuck all. How about a 5mm spacer and then 5mm off the caliper?
Beaver
chop chopped last night, doesnt look like much in the scheme of things. will see how it goes. if it looks to dodge will just grab another set and venture down the spacer route.
