Muncie
Ok guys looking to change the stud pattern from 4x114.3 to 5x114.3 with newer 12mm 1.5mm wheel studs on my Triumph 2500 so i can get better looking wheels for it has anyone found a rotor and caliper combination that slip on front stubs of these cars with the 5 stud pattern i'm after? I know i could use those bolt on adapters but i'm pretty sure that would push the wheels out past the guards and i dont want to even attempt pumping the guards out I like it all nice and standard looking body wise. Has anyone tried redrilling hubs and fitting new studs? this is what i'm contemplating welding up old holes and drilling new ones. Tell me what you think
KKtrips
I doubt there would be enough meat on the hub to make it 5 stud.. PS there are WAAAAYYYY more wheels available for 4 x 114.3 - so what you want sounds like a backwards step to me..
Muncie
Thinking boyd coddingtons or american racing and most of the styles i want are 5 stud only. Going for more of a classic look instead of jap wheels

Muncie
These are what i want Uploaded with ImageShack.us Think you'd agree they'd look shit 4 stud
KKtrips
Print Low'N'Slows template and enlarge/shrink it to make the correct scale size then see if there will be enough room on your hub.. From memory the trumpy hubs have 4 "ears" (for lack of a better word) that the studs locate in - going 5 stud you might end up with one or two floating in space/holding on by the smallest of margins.. KKtrips
Just found a picture of a Triumph hub (I think) You are going to struggle to change these to 5 stud without running into some kind of interference..
Muncie
Think the triumph brakes will need to go looking at that not a hope in hell. Anyone got a lathe and can make up some new stubs for a brake conversion?
R100
Seriuosly just take the hub to pick a part with a box of tools and see what you can find that matches up close enough.

mikuni
Yeah, just remove the whole 4 stud hub and bolt on a 5 stud one of a similar type?
fuel
perhaps look at Ford Zephyr, Ford Falcon, Mitsubishi L200/L300, Toyota Hilux/Hiace/Crown hubs etc - perhaps one of them will share the same bearing inner ID?
will i am
this would be a easier option. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 593077.htm only catch is cert and spacing the wheels out
Muncie
This is going to snowball i can tell. repainting an engine bay turned into lexus v8 swap while i was in there last time i had one of these cars.......
Seedy Al
I have some crown hubs that are 5 x 114.3, but they are stil only solid disks from memory. Can give you bearing measurments if you like. not that i have calipers to suit tho.
Muncie
Hey if you can give me a part number on the wheel bearing i can track down measurements that way, Cheers by the way.
Jase
http://user.online.be/~gd31496/Brakes.htm this guys used sd1 struts to go 5 stud on a tr7/8, might be a lead to follow plenty sd1's floating around in nz
Muncie
Funny you should mention that i have used SD1 brake calipers on a trumpy i had before big 4 piston units worked pretty good, the rovers run a bloody massive stud pattern though and getting decent looking wheels for them is also a hassle well expensive too and same problem with redrilling them not much room to move studs inwards. Have Owned a Sd1 was a top car though everytime i got it running right i'd scatter the spider gears in the diff. Am looking at grafting in skyline front struts now as a Upgrade to the whole front end. just need to get hold of parts and start measuring.
