post seem to be getting longer and longer apart finally done the driveshaft hoop and had a good chat to the cert man new rules with brake lines running down the driveshaft tunnel, which means i had a choice of another D HOOP at the rear or relocate brake line since i relocated brakeline into cabin and back out it has to be covered. nothing fancey. found some scrap in the workshop that worked out good ex parked up sunday avo at work monday morning also got a new toy GTST always wanted one and the price was right haha

good idea on the course you could also buy the datsun...... you know you want to its got 78 watchers and still got a week and a half left to run on auction

yea gota know ya limits if it was only mechanical id be away laughing got a rough quote of 4k ready for paint but one off those things the more rust ya find the more $$$$ to spend

starter motor arrived monday. after a quick strip down, blow all the rust off it and lube the bearings it was finally going in the vice bolted it in and started pretty good for something that has been sitting for 6 years http://vid1133.photobucket.com/albums/m583/will229/Mobile%20Uploads/20150112_183654_zpsoolvfw7p.mp4 decided to take it for a lap around the block on tuesday goes mint. no cruncking in the gearbox bad points needs wheel alignment bad shocks are fucked, dives hard under braking after a shit attempt of a garage burn out, found out its got a LSD -
didn't even know it was on this weekend. Will have to go for a look

ill get the rust and rear end done by the pro's bit out side my trade knowledge eventually get her back on the road and go from there

plans for it so far is to get it going then get some quotes for the rear end and rust work -
bit of surface rust here and there both doors at the bottom few good bubbles few other rust spots less than i thought there would be still need to chuck it on the hoist and check the under body

found this wee gem sitting at my flat mates old mans house has been sitting outside for a good few years 1978 datsun 180b currently not going as missing starter motor and no battery has been rear ended at some part of its life and plates are dead

so the lancers been of the road for bout 3 years now boss finished the wiring and shes a runner with no "odd" noises finished product off my down pipe bit off old school at the workshop still got lots to do before i can take it for a thrash

bit off motivation over the last 4 months put head and inlet manifold on bought a none cracked exhaust manifold, fitted that and turbo fitted disc brake rear end, fuel pump also bought myself some goodies decided it was time for the boss to work his auto electric skills and deal with the wiring side so chucked the old lancer on the trailer

i like what uve done with the air flow meters guys keeping engine set up original for now will look at mpi, aftermarket ecu etc later on the track

am trying to find a smaller air flow meter that would still work with the starion ecu original one is bit bulky and doesnt allow for good air flow any info would be great

gave my self a early xmas present and finaly sent the head away to get tested and skimmed next step, stem seals, lap and fit valves, clean block and fit

thanks for your input MJRSTAr will have to talk to my engineer and see what a good long term method is id hate for it to pop out

how time flys when ur poor got some motivation and decided to put the short block in the ex hopfully next update it will have a head

progress has slowed right down no one ever tells ya about the hidden costs with buying a house or having a child got the engineer to machine my flywheel and braze a fitting on my fuel pump

camber will consist off how low ur suspension is. if you are using standard ex struts ull need to change the part on your orig ball joint over. (forgot name off part) yea ball joints are just bolt on ones. much easyer to change if you got one with play in it
