shizzl
after your suggestions.... have had way too many filthy thoughts of selling this and building another stockcar... but on the other hand im sure ill regret getting rid of this, cos its so much fun to drive, its also my daily at the moment. so my options are: sell the cortina and build a stockcar keep the cortina, get some hotwires, paint it bogan as gloss black,extractors... if only it wasnt fun to drive.....decisions decisions.... shizzl
i need to repaint this cos these stripes are pissing me off... cant decide on a colour though, and ive tried to google cortinas to look at options but keep getting factory colours,no thanks.. so im tossing up between: gloss black gloss graphite black---which is basically a dark gun metal grey midnight purple- my first mk5 was this colour and looked awesome, however i dont wanna copy slickyddyers cortina, although it does look mint..... no other colours are screaming at me.. if i went the high gloss black i may also add in a red or purple pearl to it, not a massive amount though, just enough to give it some pop when you look closer thoughts/ideas/comments? camo_78
personally id go red pearl as if you get it just right under sun it looks like the car will be painted with coke, lol.IF i get the sport straight enough its also going gloss black

shizzl
new carbs were always the plan at some stage though... i know it needs new leads cos they old and stiff as hell, all mismatched.. the dizzy cap, rotor and points are all near new.. elec ign conversion is a must, just need to find a set up thats proven to work. seen a few systems that dont
shizzl
stripped the carby.. found that the power valve diaphram is perished to shit.. had to slap it all back together so i can still use it...but gave it all a good clean internally etc.. even stripped the choke mech down, and reassembled it properly.. in the manual it doesnt mention the mixture screw setting, it just says " do not remove the plastic plug due to emissions bullshit"... it was about 4.5 turns out....so i put it back to that.. the choke seems to work though now,so thats a bonus... next on the list is the timing. any of you invers pervs got a timing light??
