So got two of these exactly same geniune brides I don't know where to put it, seems bit of waste to let them gathering dust in the garage.

Trying to score some of these legs, don't want the arms as they're pretty ugly.

and some metal work, drilling, grinding, welding, all should be good practice.

anyone done this before?

Please note, no spam please, Geniune intersted to build a cool chair.

yeah as long as you don't damage the frames with welding or cutting should be sweet.

weld some old seat rails to the top of an old office chair, should be plenty at your local tip/junk shop

go for ones with steel or alloy bases as car seats are higher and heavier, therefore will tip over easily with flimsy bases.

I used the existing bolts and slotted angle iron for mine.

I have this: http://iforce.co.nz/i/iln4ph20.ame.jpg mounted on the bottom half of an office chair. Works good.

Get two banana boxes and sit the seat on them. Saves you damaging yourself, the chairs, or both. Try practising all of those skills on something a bit easier to start with :thumbright:

Orrrrrrr

Sell the seats so they don't gather dust, and buy one of these:

I cheated, had a computer chair with arms, was the perfect depth and width to wedge my Racepro seat onto.

Though years back I built one with a Jamex seat and some metal bar welded onto an old office seat base, not hard to do with the right gear
