Trying to score some of these legs, don't want the arms as they're pretty ugly. and some metal work, drilling,grinding,welding, all should be good practice. anyone done this before? Borgweiser Posted April 19, 2012 Share Posted April 19, 2012 yeah as long as you don't damage the frames with welding or cutting should be sweet. weld some old seat rails to the top of an old office chair, should be plenty at your local tip/junk shop go for ones with steel or alloy bases as car seats are higher and heavier, therefore will tip over easily with flimsy bases. Get two banana boxes and sit the seat on them. Saves you damaging yourself, the chairs, or both.
