R100
Whats the simplest ignition only system that can be used for an injected engine that now runs carbs. Is there a simple wasted spark system or similar avalible off the shelf ? Wanting to run a carburettor on a 1UZ or a distributorless engine such as an RB20
KKtrips
Didn't Slacker Cam run a Link on his AE86 4AGE with carbs just to run the ignition? Most probably easier solutions - MSD may have one - I know they have exactly what you are asking for for an LS1 but not sure on 1UZ. The one I mean is this http://www.msdignition.com/product.aspx ... terms=6012 More options here http://www.msdignition.com/info.aspx?taxid=4&taxid2=
R100
Those options above are great. Im sort of thinking is there something else that can be wired up. Ive heard of people using a "Ford edis" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic ... ion_System And adapting it to variuos engines, has anyone heard of this ? Snoozin
Ford EDIS setups still need an ECU (ignition only or otherwise) to run, this is what I am intending to do with my 5K. Have the EDIS bits and pieces + a toothed wheel, just need to settle on the ECU. Leaning towards a Link G4 Lightning, which is an ignition only ECU that is used frequently speedway situations so I am lead to believe. Has an inbuild MAP sensor too which is nice/probably not much use to me with bike carbs. My primary reasons for choosing the Link are readily available backup, elegance and it's a well proven product. Not the most cost effective however. barf
the megasquirt does ignition, fuel or any combination of. perhaps not the simplest but, it's hard to find better deflagration control systems.
