Bling
What stud pattern and wheel size? How rough is the lip at the moment?
AndyGal
Elite is shit do it yourself with a car lathe. Lift the driving wheels off the ground then hold sandpaper on the wheel as it spins. Start with 80 grit depending on how bad your wheels are and work up to 1000 grit then use autosol polish on a rag. Or go to escort metal polishes. They wont take a month to polish you wheels like elite.
Beaver
They wont take a year to polish you wheels like elite. I never said elite where any good....haha, just that they do them. there is a thread on here how to polish lips
Shaun36
Stud pattern is 4x114 and are 14". Lip is not bad at all. I started polishing one of them with 80 using the car as a lathe but got sick of it pretty quickly since the pitting was taking a while to come out. And also while I have it in mind, is it possible to get the botls that hold the centers in to the wheel band zinced? Have a full set that are a it rusty that I wouldn't mind getting redone instead of replacing. Thanks
Beaver
check this out. all good things take time, but will look sweet in the end viewtopic.php?f=48&t=21101
rob
man elite did a sweet job on my works.. like pretty much mirror finish on the alloy. i had them done in pairs so i could keep driving around but each time there was only a week turnaround. only cost $50 a wheel to polish and paint. sucks other people seem to be getting a raw deal from them, makes me wonder if i should go back... Gaz
for $50 a rim I wouldn't bother trying to polish yourself. Very tedious job which takes hours and hours. Gaz
Beaver
sucks other people seem to be getting a raw deal from them, makes me wonder if i should go back... my personal experiences and the ones I have heard fgrom others have all been with regards to getting steel rims widened, they may be top notch on other things..... anyways, back to the polishing
AndyGal
It took zeb just over an hour to polish one monster dish wheel so it doesnt take that long. Get the wheel going faster like 40ks and if you have an open diff wedge something against the other wheel so it doesnt stop when you put pressure on the polishing one. Or just pay $200 to get someone else to do it.
Guest
Yeh you'll find the first one or two will take a while but get the hang of it quick enough and it'll be no more than an hour a piece these done with above method

Simon
It depends on the condition of the wheel you start with. Mine were shocking and took 3 or 4 hours a piece. Not including the center.
Bling
Hard to see, but I had some decent dents in the lip. That was about 1.5 hours of experimenting. Just using a machine I built with some no.8 wire and a 4x114.3 axle I'm sure it would have taken longer if I had real dish I started out with a metal file (and ear muffs ), then like 60 grit, down to something real fine, then a bit of polish. With practice an hour would be reasonable time for a pretty mirror like finish. Just give it another shot yourself and pat yourself on the back with the 2 hundy when you're done
