  1. Am contemplating bringing my car to Dunedin if I was able to get a space to store and work on it for cheap. Anyone in the Dunedin area have/know of any? Thanks
  2. Have reset leaf springs in now, had them reset 2" and had an extra leaf added. Sits about 10-15ish mm lower at back which I will sort out at some stage also. Anyway here are a few pics: Discuss viewtopic.php?f=18&t=21076
  3. Cheers. Yeah has been down to a pretty good standard, gave it a polish for the first time the other week and came up very nice. Wondering if anyone had any ideas/advice on how to get the extractors flange down 2mm? Thanks
  4. Ok so have done nothing in a long time but am trying to get a few things done before I head back to uni for the year. I have given up on the idea of using sidedrafts because it would have been too expensive to set up and keep running so am just going to use a weber downdraft 32/36 but this makes another problem because the extractors that Sheldon (blown5k) made me have a flange thickness of 12mm(I think it is) to suit the sidedraft manifold. Is it possible to have the flange cut down 2mm to fit the Toyota intake manifold flange? For the suspension I have ordered some new 4kg springs as the ones I had were ~8kg which was far too stiff and have also ordered some RCA's. Have also got leaf springs out to be reset 2". Some pictures from a year or so ago: This is a photo just for reference. It is with the leaf springs out and car sitting on standard bumpstops which is about 10ish mm lower than it will actually be. You can also see the wooden bead seat covers that I just bought the other day: Discussion viewtopic.php?f=18&t=21076 Shaun
  5. Hi, im interested in a car in napier and was wanting to know if there is someone that wouldnt mind checking it out for me? Cheers
  6. Stud pattern is 4x114 and are 14". Lip is not bad at all. I started polishing one of them with 80 using the car as a lathe but got sick of it pretty quickly since the pitting was taking a while to come out. And also while I have it in mind, is it possible to get the botls that hold the centers in to the wheel band zinced? Have a full set that are a it rusty that I wouldn't mind getting redone instead of replacing. Thanks
  7. Wanting to know who has had polishing done in chch? Am looking to get 4 wheels polished (lip only, obviously) and was wanting to know if there was anyone that people would recomend? Or even a chance that someone on here that does it? Thanks
  8. Time... Need a car before next weekend and I live in Hokitika so its a bit of a hassle driving all that way to look at cars that usually sell before I get to chch. So wanting to know if when i find a car(s), if someone would be able to go check it out for me?...
  9. Have adjustables in now. Still need to sort out bumpstops but thats on the worry list.. Also put the gutter chrome (plastic stuff) and polished it. Dont know why i can never get the proper colour of the paint but anyway here it is.
  10. Alrite, got adjustables finished (minus bumpstops) and in. Sitting around 90mm at the moment. In desperate need of RCA's however. Also got another 3 tyres (that i need shipped from auk to hokitika or even chch) so just need to finish polishing the wheels so i can get that all finished.
  11. Thanks for the comments. Yeah have decided to take my time in doing it and do it properly. Never noticed about the wagnats until you mentioned but will look into it, would be a good time. Not too many more plans as of yet but have been quite fond of the idea of ca18... But that wouldnt be for a while yet. Have been finishing the adjustables this week and should be ready by the weekend to put in minus the camber plates and bump stops (anyone recomend me a part number possibly? Tried repco and the idiots tried selling me sway bar bushes...) at the moment. Have also been using the car as a lathe to polish the wheels so that is coming along slowly but surely. Will update with pics after the weekend once the front is sorted. Also am hopefuly picking up some re-set leaf springs this weekend so that would save me the hassle of getting them re-set myself. Thats all for now...
  12. Been reading here for ages so thought i might as well put a project thread up since its holiday time... I know noone is really into these but thought might as well put it up anyway I have a 1978 Toyota Corolla ke36.. Have had this thing about 3 or 4 years and have slowly built it. Am at uni so things get done slowly during the year but am trying to get it finished this summer.. Here is when I used to think big wheels and high offset was cool.. Then i get it stripped down to get re-sprayed with the result of this Has a worked 5k with twin side draughts and extractors which are yet to be fitted Then I realised that big wheels were not as cool as i initially thought and got some 14's... Still nothing special but am going to make do with them for now as anything is better than what was on there and have had some adjustables made up. Here is a few pictures i have from recent of how the front will sit and am yet to sort out the back Have been ploishing the wheels and getting centres painted. Am planning to get a cert just into the new year sometime Photos in poor light and off a camera phone so not too flash and wheels have not been polished or painted in that photo but gives you the idea Sits around 70-80mm off the ground but hopefuly is still pratical...

    Gas shocks

Got new gas shocks, one once pushed down will rebound back up but other one will not... Just want to know whats going on/if its stuffed? Thanks
  15. Yeah took them down to him on tuesday. took one down and get him to give it a go to see how it would come up. Didnt come up good at all, the centres were blasted with glass so has left marks all over them and looks really rough. Could sand them but would take so long/i would get way too frustrated. So my next question is, is powdercoating a thicker coat and will it fill in the rough look? Thanks
  16. Yeah will get prices for both. Was just not sure wheather there would be a huge differance between coating and painting or not
  17. I have the centres out of my wheels at the moment and sandblasted them lastnight. Im aware that powder coating is probably going to be better but we dont have a powder coater in town so was wondering if its worth sending them away to get coated or just getting them painted locally?
