Dude, they all look cheap and nasty.

In saying that, i'm still running two cheap and nasty NBN amps and they go fine for running my gear.

I've only killed one so far in the 8 years i've used them

the one in my car is a kenwood one , its pretty sweet , but i think is was the top of the range a while back so that might have somthing to do with it .

im keen to copy diddy's setup and get rid of my headunit because it looks ug as shit where it is and i rarely listen to the radio or use the controls anyhow

The Jaycar amps are actually pretty good for their price.

Don't worry too much about the wattage, amp / speakers don't need to be perfectly matched up. If the amp has more output then the speakers are rated for, just turn the gain down

I've never spent less than $1k on an amp, so...

That Alpine one looks alright, 50W RMS per channel should be plenty adequate.

Has better crossover adjustment compared to the Pioneer unit, which is good if ya wanna run a sub, either on the same amp or trim the lower end off the mid/high speakers.

It's also a bit smaller than the Pioneer, so easier to hide under a seat etc.

Would be my choice anyway

ahhh ok so what would you do ? outta the amps i posted in last few posts ?

Im would just stick with a brand name amp. Kenwood, alpine, sony, pioneer, rockfors fosgate, kicker, etc.

Even if you just buy a 50x2 watt amp it will be 25 million times more grunty and cleaner sounding than some cheap ass amp. I prefer to buy second hand. I bought myself a real sweet 50x4 amp off tardme for $60 works mint as. Just gota keep looking.

I would say clear of most Full Range Class-D amps however, Pioneer PRS-D4000F is supposed to be reasonable good amp.

Yeah A/B is probably a better option if you're after quality, however the high end D class amps are pretty sweet. Hell of a lot smaller and more efficient than the A/B amps, especially the high power jobs.

D class sub amps are all good, high output in a small package.

Edit: This is one of my amps. http://www.alpine.com.au/showItem.php?item_id=74

It's pretty lush. I doubt you'll ever need anything like it.
