Don't worry too much about the wattage, amp / speakers don't need to be perfectly matched up. Yowzer Posted May 10, 2010 Share Posted May 10, 2010 I've never spent less than $1k on an amp, so... That Alpine one looks alright, 50W RMS per channel should be plenty adequate. Has better crossover adjustment compared to the Pioneer unit, which is good if ya wanna run a sub, either on the same amp or trim the lower end off the mid/high speakers. Kenwood, alpine, sony, pioneer, rockfors fosgate, kicker, etc. Even if you just buy a 50x2 watt amp it will be 25 million times more grunty and cleaner sounding than some cheap ass amp. Yeah A/B is probably a better option if you're after quality, however the high end D class amps are pretty sweet. Hell of a lot smaller and more efficient than the A/B amps, especially the high power jobs. D class sub amps are all good, high output in a small package.
