ryanfels
So i brought this water temp guage to chuck in the jzx61. I had a look at the instructions and i cant quite work out what im ment to do with the orange and yellow wire. can any1 help?
R100
Going by that diagram. Yellow wire is a perminent constant feed to the battery. Orange wire goes through the ignition, so it powers up when to turn the key on. Dont forget to fuse each wire, and put the fuse at the end where the power comes from, not the gauge end. I see theres another ignition feed, earth etc to the gauge aswell. Not sure why theres 2 lots of feeds though...

Now confused...
kyteler
Top half will be factored for the lamp / lighting and the bottom half takes cares of the gauges function.
Bling
Never installed one myself, but i'll have a guess that the bottom feeds are for the gauge itself, and the top ones are to do with possibly a backlight, the constant feed makes me think it needs power for a memory, but that doesn't sound right EDIT: too slow
ryanfels
i was more curious as to what the symbols ive circled mean Also what size fuses should i be using
KKtrips
my guess is the 4 bars are fuses and the little dingleberry on the left is a lightbulb?? what brand gauge?
ryanfels
autogauge
KKtrips
OK - Is it one of those crazy 7 colour lights?? Had a think about it and it could be something along these lines Orange - signal from park circuit to turn on the backlit illumination Yellow - power for the backlit illumination Black - earth Purple - signal from headlights for dimming the backlit illumination with the low/high beam on Not saying that it is definitely this way but the idea may jog someones elses recollection.. xsspeed
^ I would agree with this, Thought dimming was just healdights on or off, not high/low beams? The dingleberry still confuses me.
ryanfels
The dingleberry still confuses me. Same here
m0ss4yy
the four little thingys are almost like defogger grid symbols but not quite. my guess would be a fuse or defogger. dunno y u would need 4 fuses for a single gauge..?
m0ss4yy
then again. could just be their signal for a connector
Raizer
I'm pretty sure that the "dingleberry" is a crude ignition switch
xsspeed
I'm pretty sure that the "dingleberry" is a crude ignition switch hah thats exactly what I was gunna suggest - even using 'crude' - but it looks like a bulb? I confess to knowing fuck all about wiring, but why the fuck would be defoggers?
Bling
The glass on the gauge might fog up?
