Soda blast vs sand blast

Wanting to get my ute cab media blasted of some sort, what are the pros and cons of either sand or soda blasting?

The cab is stripped bare and off the chassis. It has a small amount of rust/bog but nothing major just 30yrs of wear/tear/road grime.

I think Uncle Jake will have an answer from experience, but IIRC soda blasting is a lot gentler on your body panels - sand blasting creates a large amount of heat - to the extent it warps large areas of flat steel (roof, bonnet, door skins etc)

I believe - Sand is best for thick gauge steel, Soda is best for thin gauge steel

Have a look at vapour blasting or dustless blasting on YouTube.

It's a mix of glass, water and high volume air.

The air basically vaporize the water. But the water cools the steel so no warping.the water also cushions the bead so it removes the paint with out damage to the base surface. Yes there is water and clean steel but there is a rust prevented to stop flash rust.

Soda is Costic, so you still have to flush with water any way.

I'm have ordered a cabinet vapour blast unit from England so I'm a little bias.
