d.p.n.s
hi all im thinking of turboing my van (2.0 pinto)for fun im thinking maybe suck through (Cheap) just make a turbo manifold for a evo or wrx turbo run a oil feed and return take the carb off and make a cross over pipe ive got some injected throttle bodies from a zx12r was thinking just use 2 make up and adaptor to bolt to turbo and then a loom and cheap ecu for the injectors. or make a good manifold for a nice big turbo run it through a intercooler make up a nice inlet manifold for all 4 injected throttle bodies make a sweet plenum pretty good ecu set up and see what blows on the motor 1st what do you think dan
kyteler
If you're going to turbo. Just go the EFi route right off the bat. Save time and money.

kyteler
I would have thought though that you would only need the exh. one and you could just cut the intake runners off a stock intacke manifold and then get some alloy tubing welded on, TB's in place, plenum atop, etc.

slipsittin
Not a silly question man. Honestly I don't know but can measure the height from head to block face to the top of the manifold when I get up there this weekend. The efi heads are a very good head for this application and the manifold to head flange makes it hard to adapt to other non efi heads. Just PM me or txt on 021 66 86 54 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 733286.htm shit thats a good deal. i paid 500 for a manifold alone with no ecu, afm, etc let alone a turbo manifold. then again, i was getting pretty desperate. shizzl
when i had my 2 dr mk2,i had a turbo pinto in it,originaly had a garret suck through manifol on inlet side..i biffed it and got a injected sierra/grenada manifold and loom. the manifold sat under the bonnet sweet. i had a manifold made up out of steam pipe bends, cost $250,looked the shiz. used a wrx turbo. however i never finished it cos i moved south sold for not much money.. but had a proven block with thicker head gasket and forged pistons.. there were heaps of pics of it on here but theyr gone somewhere? maybe cos it was back in like 2004/5????? Save time and money. id like to rebuttle you normally id agree 100% but a pinto turbo is hardly worth putting money into im going to say suckthru su edit- i was trying to find a website about turbo su's and how great they are and by some sweet fluke this came up first result http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 202952.htm BUY BUY BUY!
slipsittin
Its gone....but that SU needs to be way bigger. The set up I ran was a custom thing from some place in the states that does Harley stuff. I fitted a 40DCOE and after much jetting issues (due to the guy doing it was so far out on the original setup) it went very well. The only BIG trouble I had was the fact that the turbo compressor wheel came off (RJAY turbo's were common for this apparently???) and it caught fire in the exhaust lol New T3/T4 set up and away again trying to jet it for the change in power. A 45DCOE sorted the missing and went very hard. Almost as much torque as HP. This is the type of adaptor I ran for the DCOE http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 735672.htm Corey
