peteretep
all minor things really, cant wait to see this
Gaz
Also needle bounces around the place on idle.. Its getting feed back through the (+) side of the wiring. When I fitted up my electric fuel pump it made my tacho bounce, all I did was change the (+) on the fuel pump and no more bounce. Try it and see if it works. Will do have a fiddle with wires around that area. Cheers.
Gaz
Did you get that other oil pump put in? nah didnt due to car being at panel beaters and extra day to what it was supposed to be.. thminiman
dude! how big are the wings on that loop? is that what the cunt told you to do?
Gaz
Just long enough to get onto the flat of the floor and have a decent amount of gap between the bolts. Also you bending 6mm without heating = the man.. I bent that circle up and its only 5x60mm and no way was it gonna happen without heat. thminiman
sweet, is there a certain space that needs to be between the bolts? and between the bolt and the end of the steel? fuck its a piss around, everything needs to be so precise
Gaz
Nah there isnt but I didnt want the bolts too close. The longer the better as it spreads load. I dont want the stupid loop in the first place, heavy weight if you ask me. Now ive done this I would def recomend doing a two peice one. Looks mean as, not a fan of the meshies but the white looks awse, love the plate style too. Although you should do a UK rep one I reckon, regardless, tis looking good. Gaz
Although you should do a UK rep one I reckon, regardless, tis looking good. Very good idea. Could be in for that. Im not happy with the rear plate. I told him to make it as similar to standard font as possiable and thats what he came up with. Hold the normal plate next to it and it is WAY differant.. I thought he would just scan the OG plate I had. The mrs is going to make again when uni starts back up.

mk2maniac
I see you have my old seats in there, they look pretty good.
Gaz
Yeap they comfy too lol. What a mision mounting them in there tho.. Damn cortina with double floor skin!
mk2maniac
Yeah, I remember they were comfy. Did you mount them on the big arse pieces of box section that were with them? Did I even give you those? I think I did because they're not laying around here. There's a little locating hole in the floor isn't there? And there's a lug somewhere on the rear of the base that slips is place? At least that's how they were mounted (as well as bolting through the floor) when I took them out. Gaz
Yeah I got those bits of steel but not using them. The holes in the front of floor for mine were in the wrong place and the holes at rear also. Where the seat ends up at the rear it is double skinned so I couldnt just drill through cause cert guy wouldnt like it. Have ended up making a huge bracket that goes past the double skin and then through floor. Some opics in my thread of them. Last set of pics I think. mk2maniac
Oh ok. I'm pretty certain they're not actual Mk2 Cortina seats, which probably explains them not fitting straight in. It's hard to say with such an old car, nearly 40 years is a long time for a whole of stuff to have been changed and messed with. I know that the tags on mine have been changed, the ones on the car don't match the rego papers (the reg is on hold). Not that it really matters because it's all being changed anyway, but it's still itneresting to look at the history of the car. Apparently mine was originally a 1300. Gaz
Nah they Triumph or hunter seats. Yeah mine has a plate on it and was made in LowerHutt. Big claim to fame there
mk2maniac
That's what they all say isn't it, Lower Hutt? At least all the NZ, non imported ones anyway. They were just assembled there in LH. I had to get them to change the vin on the papers to the one that is on the car, otehrwise there would be all kinds of shit stirred when I get it certified and warranted and stuff. It's great having the reg on hold, because once it's finished and certified, I can simply get a warrant, register it, whack my plates on and drive!
