  1. Like the 'middle' path you've chosen, still wish I was able to get a 2JZ-GE when I started my saga.... Looking forward to some more retrosepctive updates
  2. Radiator is all welded up and inlet plumbing fits well, onto the outlet next. Intercooler inlet mods are all tacked in to checking, needs a minor tweak with a BFH or similar, bit pretty darn close. Outlet to the throttle body also fitted up nicely. Just waiting on a oil cooler (OEM) delete fitting to arrive from Oz and I can start one the new cooler & thermostat and plumbing...
  3. I'd go an M42B18 with some ITB's Or if $$ / desire stretched with a Turbo on the other side!
  4. Same, esp. in that good condition. Some 215 or 225/45's would be a nice fitment, pretty common size to, so not heaps of $$ ea.
  5. Saw those R3's on TM. Looking forward to some pics with them mounted!!
  6. A bit more snail paced progress, pretty self explanatory: Hopefully get it all tacked up (as well as the Radiator). Also paid EDL a visit today for some more fixing hardware, so back onto the pedal-box tomorrow.
  7. Nice thread - almost nostalgic. When I was in high school I used to ride (a not so legal) IT200 around on the road and 'go places' and do lots of wheelies, and I generally stunk like a very oil rag. Last bike I had was 2001 RM250 - was a mental machine. Don't think I ever got use / comfortable on it in the year I had it. But the suspension on it was to die for. [/off to trade me for some sweet dreams]
  8. Got a fair bit in the garage Al, can cut you off a piece, when you need it?
  9. Like the budget turbo idea, and the Holsets' are nice and cheap (even new like the one I got). The HX40's are reasonably common here in NZ (HX35's weren't on anything new here) so keep an eye out for them also. You won't be able to use any that are internally gated, as they are usually far too small, and only by-pass one of the scrolls on a twin-scroll T-hsg (from memory). I got mine with a non-WG'd 12cm housing, you could probably go a bit bigger (14 or 16cm) with 3.0l and N/A-esque compression ratios without creating a lag-monster. Not sure what the engine bay looks like on H6, but with one centrally mounted across the back (firewall), a nice pair of 'headers' from each bank, feeding each scroll, with a pair of 38mm external gates at the collectors, and a 3-3.5" down-pipe to the passenger side would be pretty drool worthy. Another one to look at (if getting something from the US) is a Holset HE351VE with the VNT actuator, be a bit of fun if you have any spare PWM outputs on the LINK.... (turn on your bullsh!t filter and have a flick through this)
  10. Been slow progress so far this year, but there has been some... Pedal box mount welded up, and re-inforcing plate cut to weld to the floor: Side Radiator shrouds & IC mounts water-cut and folded: Radiator inlet mods underway: And, I probably should build a new end-tank:
  11. What gear(dog)boxes are you using? Be interesting to see what that 2.4l does! Are there many people running the Honda K24's?
  12. Mad MSPaint skilz there!! Stick wheels on one end and push it onto the site. Looks like from the pic below, going through the shed/garage with a temp ramp will come out at a good level with easy access from the street / main road. Just have to sacrifice the shed & rebuild *bugger*
  13. Have you thought about pulling the roof/lintel off the garage and temporarily filling it at a ramp onto the site? Feed the container straight in / onto the site with somthing like an excavator / frontend loader at each end to handle the height / grade change etc... Sure, will still cost a bit to rebuild the shed etc.. but looks cheaper than the big a$$ cranes & road closures you're looking at. Doubt it it that simple IRL but got to ask
  14. Used to have a 1275 GT - what fun. You'll want to install a 'custom dizzy shield'(*) before winter and rain comes along. *. Actually an Ice Cream Container, black one preferably
  15. Thats awesome. Using your Xbox Kenetic thing?? Or did you buy a proper scanner? Watch out Westy - I'll be sending NicT around
  16. Got a bit of time in on the car over the break. Radiator & Intercooler mounted up in a 'V' arrangement. Templating for the side shrouds & botton IC mounts.
  17. W40 is a 4spd. Perfect candidate for another Beams 3S-GE transplant, almost a 'bolt-in' deal. Good score for a 21st gift-o-rama, look after it and don't put it sideways up a kerb!
  18. Made a few more (small) steps forward of late... Got the Column all mounted up and lower steering shaft assembled. Sent some files of to get water cut. One was for a new radiator support panel, which is a bit of a jigsaw puzzle of pieces to weld together. The pic is just of the top piece with the bracing ribs tacked in, there are vertical support to go on yet that will bolt to the chassis. If anyone has a 50mm dimple-die / hole flaring tool, I'd love to borrow one Also had the red part of the previous post cut to get started on the pedal box mount. Should be a busy Christmas break I hope Oh, also dropped the drive-shaft off to be shortened.
  19. similar: And the materials palette most importantly: The Koach was made from 3 Model T bodies and is 18 feet long. The 133" frame was made by hand. It has a four speed manual transmission and a power rear end. The brass radiator and fenders were hand formed. In 1964, the cost to build the first one was $18,000.00. It had "blood red" velvet interior. It took 500 hours to hand form the ornate rolled steel scrollwork. It had Gloss Black Pearl paint. The front end had a dropped axle, split radius rods and T springs.
  20. As everyone has said, Awesome!! Def. need some more build details and pics. And most importantly some Video/Sound!!!!!
  21. Could you use one of those exhaust scavenger setups?? Were you connect the vavle covers, either directly via a catch-can to to the exhaust: http://vibrantperformance.com/catalog/product_info.php?osCsid=f2b55e4334890725b85a8bffe5c6bcf1&products_id=1243&cPath=1022_1035_1069
  22. You can get a few Semi's in a 245/45 R16 if that isn't too short of a tyre.... Sounded Fab!! Wonder if the Mrs will have my bollocks if her RX350 sounded like that on the kindy run.....
  23. That fuel tank +150mm clearance is a funny one, I doubt a stock E30 (in my case) would even have that. Good the cert list wasn't too onerous looking...
