  1. are the 6 speed boxes the same from the version 7 wrx through to the current subaru models? excluding the diesel ones which id presume are different
  2. you sir are very brave. did you overlap the old floor with the new when you welded in the new patches?
  3. what gearbox you guna run? scored a 6 speed?
  4. now i know nothing. howeverwould it be possible to have a detachable hose go from caravan to wagon like hydraulic lines on a tractor, or the air lines trucks run to their trailers? that way you can have a switch in th ecar to activate bags on caravan... whats the normal driving height between the caravan and the crown (assuming its going behind the crown) EDIT: cos you could just leave the draw bar as is if the heigh isnt going to be much different beween the crown when its normal and the caravan is laying frame... or have something like this http://trojan.co.nz/index.asp?pageID=2145834374 part number 75120 or 75125 which could split the difference. i need a diagram
  5. Probably guna get flammed here... would it look better with a larger diameter wheel on the back?... looks kinda odd... probably just me or maybe its just this photo
  6. ahhh not Glenn i ment Grant, his son. he is still running it except I believe its in Warkworth now or something.
  7. yea ill probably end up finding some 12a NOS housings for my rx7 eventually. are you actually going to put the original cosmo engine back together or just hoard all the parts? if you put it together whos going to build it? Glenn Munro?
  8. How did you find the housings!? not even guna ask what you paid for them
  9. the rubber fluff thing is heat shielding isnt it? or maybe its sound as well/instead... i have no idea tbh
  10. Is the ECU electronically restricting the throttle? No idea if this is even possible in older engines but newer engines with the fly by wire shit are sometimes electronically restricted between different vehicle models ( 317kw HSV clubsport vs 325kw HSV Clubsport GTS is an example that comes to mind)
  11. thats on par for all the other over priced 808's on there and yours is 7694302857690 times better-er
  12. I tried the dry ice method. for the most part it worked, there was still chiseling involved however. and it didnt come off as clean as that ^^
  13. yea having two engines is a good idea. how can an R130 share the apex seals of a 10a when the engines in an R130 are a 13A? wouldnt the apex seals be too short. think youd have to be brave to drive a FWD rotary in general, there was one on ebay in aus recently for 12k AUD in need of full restoration iirc. have you managed to find some NOS pieces for your cosmo? cant imagine finding wrecked ones would be easy seeing as they only made like 1500
  14. WOW is all I can say. I didnt even know there were any of these in the country. I want one. and an R130.
  15. My parents started there business operating out of some vintage trailer. anyway they eventually replaced it with a building and it sat up against the fence at their work for the better part of 20 years. over that time they had numerous people come in wanting to buy it, one guy even wanted it for a movie. anyway it looklike shit, had stuff growing on the outside, smell.... interesting on the inside, semi stuffed floor, flat tyres etc. trust me it was in 75432578 times worse condition than this one you have here. anyway one day a guy came into their work and said his dad used to build them and asked if he could buy it from them so he could restore it and give it to his father for his 80th birthday or something. Dad looked at him and said if you can get it out you can have it. so they pumped up the tyres (they held air after 20years of being flat) with the aid of dads tractor they pulled it out and put it on a car trailer. months later the guy came back with photos of it completed and you wouldnt think it was the same caravan. I can dig out some pics if your interested. I think it now lives at a house on River Road in Hamilton. I drove past a house with a old (restored) caravan parked infront of it that looked suspiciously like mum and dads old one. its blue and white if anyone knows it. end of story.
  16. shit what a find alright. whats the thing on the right in this pic? EDIT: oh no wait nevermind it isnt what i was hoping it was
  17. Yes but if you were a car painter wouldnt you think to check if the codes matched the description? but if the paint code looked like what you have put in the door jams ( which doesnt look like titanium to begin with) Id think sweet spray and walk away. I mean why would you paint the jams one colour and then want the body another? just my 2c
  18. complete black. why you having to change the wheels anyway?
  19. those wheels arent bad. random question, what brand/type of paint did you use on the diff, springs and what not?
  20. halve the red line. use that as the new red line for the first the first 500kms then change oil/ drive as normal.
  21. lotus's (loti?) are so cool. my uncle used to have a 1999 elise same colour as your exige. twas so cool/quick/awesome. i believe it had the toyota celica engine in it though
  22. http://ausrotary.com/viewtopic.php?f=4& ... conversion
  23. Update. so I priced up getting a floor cut out of crashed/striped 7 from some wreakers... decided the prices weren't ideal however a friend of mine said he would have a jam at making one and welding it in while I stand around and get in the way. This is the outcome So just getting it confirmed with cert people that its going to be all legit before it gets completely welded in. also cut some holes behind the quarter windows and in other news there was a bulge in the floor in front of the section thats just been put in the floor, had a look under the car to find someones jacked it up in the past and dented the floor, and also dented/ twisted this bit of the chassis its also messed with the mounting holes for the bottom of the front left fender so it shall be visiting somewhere to get that all straightened out. Need to do some shopping for the following. - series 3 front calipers - straight complete rear bumper - series 2 rear end redrilled to 4x114.3 - front valance - possibly a new front bumper if i feel like it (probably going to happen) until next time
