  1. Anyone know anything about these things? Reliability, performance, ability to get parts? Looking to get something which it has been transplanted into
  2. By far one of the best mechanics in Dunedin would be Alan at KG McLeods http://yellow.co.nz/y/Engine+Servicing/ ... 7_721.html However they are always busy as hell so I'm not sure this would be a job they would do, you could take his opinion and workmanship to the bank though.
  3. When it comes to multiple webers... it is NEVER a dumb idea...
  4. Not keen on an L28? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/nissan/engines/auction-514194501.htm I'll be down in a few weeks so can bring it if you would like.
  5. There has been a commo on there lately that has a setup like that and claims it was factory. Load of bollocks, was a kit you could get from Strata, very popular in the 80s. Bits for the kits come up on TM every so often. However, a draw through carb turbo set up is a bit silly really.
  6. Yep. big fan of silver or grey. Any rust in the bottom of the A pillars or inner guard? I've had to fix those areas in these before.
  7. They were from some outfit in Chch making them at the time, I have been told the rare spare ones are reasonably good. Took me AGES to make them sit right, every profile was wrong and it is a difficult area to gap so in looks right in an HQ
  8. Yup, that was the first thing I checked. Prob not going to be quite this low (thought a long way to go to 100mm...), I was thinking I may have to 'lip' the inner guard
  9. Pity Scott from melbourne didn't get back to you. His door rubbers are awesome (bought for my HQ) and has got bits for all sorts of models. I went in and saw him when I was in melbourne last, GC.
  10. has anyone used the stainless steel shrinking discs?, they look to take highs out really well, you can get them for a nine inch or 5 inch grinder for about 60 bucks ex usa Yes, yes I have... UvSrefKxX74
  11. Do it, but do it satin black rather that matt so it has the appearance you care a bit more.
  12. Took a few pickies yesterday, I know nothing about photography so hopefully they're not too bad
  13. I'm marshalling in the Berwick forest section, think I'll try and take a few pics/vids over the weekend
  14. This is what the tool to pack them with. It works really well and not quite as messy
  15. Castrol GPL2 I think is the purpose wheelbearing grease I think. You can get a special tool which consists of two cups which force grease into the bearing or the 'grease in hand' tip above works. Though I usually end up with the crap everywhere
  16. My hand still has some flap disc fragments embedded in it (nicely visible) from a wee accident I had a while ago
  17. So to add my 2c, here is a couple of good youtube channels on panelbeating how tos http://www.youtube.com/user/restolad/videos http://www.youtube.com/user/lazzemetalshaping/videos (more for metal shaping) http://www.youtube.com/user/ButlerCollision/videos (this is more about painting, but includes basics such as applying/sanding bog Dane this is what I was talking to you about last night, seems like a sweet setup for tuck shrinking CulVVrXfiyA
  18. Its good though, this forum needs more metalwork. If you need masks etc I might be able to get a good deal through my father in law who is the sales rep at road materials. I see pink bitz is still in the background. Sort out a weekend ahead of time and I'll help you sand the bugger back so you can spray it and get it off the lawn (I know how it is bugging you). BTW: Any word on the cottage?
  19. ^ Over there you can build an entire car with a catalogue and a credit card.
