  1. Good work Man, Cheers for sorting this out.
  2. Cut and weld the head tube. More rake the better TBH, Mine as quite a bit, and Tom's has a hole bunch less, needless to say his is sketchy at speed and mine isn't.
  3. I heard the best thing to do with a C4 was replace it with a built powerglide then add Max churbros and do bulk skids, could be wrong though.... Good work on this btw.
  4. a scratch start tig is the worst abomination on the face of the planet. the first thing you have to do before you start welding with one is fuck your electrode. i fucking hate them. Ive used them for so long now its what im used to. I recently used a HF start TIG and would certainly go this way if I was purchasing. Its seems to be a standard feature now. The only reason I ask is because I already have a good arc welder, and it seems quite reasonable to buy a hand piece for it. From what I can gather they seem like the industry standard for boilermakers/pipe fitters working outside etc.
  5. It's got a china spec pit bike carb on it, so no diawham. And it was vibrating the idle screw in, but I doubt this is the problem, it used to start like a champ, and now it doesn't, black magic I say.
  6. Those victas are really reliable last time I heard..... Anyway, We know nothing about this motor. I had a quick look for timing marks but found none, so we are just winging it. I think the only thing for it is to keep playing with the timing, but it seems odd that it was running and now it isn't.
  7. I had to go to the cop shop and get them to do a no police interest request or some such thing, anyway it just says the the body tag number is not of interest to the police (EG not stolen), and that with your "receipt" you should be fine.
  8. Yea heaps sure, and we adjusted the timing so that it is firing just before TDC and still no dice, got me fucked.
  9. Bubbles, make him do exhaust valves too/ do it for him.
  10. ^ Yea, na, that's not the problem. Flywheel has been off half a dozen times, timing adjusted, points regapped, wiring double checked, condenser replaced, coil replaced. Nothing helped.
  11. And you got legitimate answers?!? Anything can be done with enough time and money, but is it worth it? Usually not. p.s I also echo the above comment.
  12. You weren't building a circuit racing car though? Increased area under the curve would be far higher on my list than dynoqueen hp figures.
  13. Good work Bairdy. What fuel are you planning on using? Have you seen this? That's a stock 2jzge+t on e85 through a big stalled converter, so probably making ~700 at the fly. Pretty impressive, but probably not what you are going for. Also 2jz's love head porting, they did one on PF and it came on boost ~600 rpm earlier and made a bunch more power. http://performanceforums.com/forums/showthread.php?67216619-2JZ-head-porting/
  14. Huge exercise for no gain. Unless the carbs you have are worth moonbeams, just buy some that work.
  15. ^ Yuh TK is the man, Definitely knows his shit. If you are really interested, read through these, unfortunately the parent website isn't up?!? Anyway it will give you a great insight into what you are actually trying to achieve. http://www.eurospares.com/graphics/engine/Vizard/
  16. Has anyone used or converted an old arc welder into a scratch start tig?
  17. You can do it yourself, but it is easy to make a head go backwards if you don't know what you are doing. I would suggest buying some books on head porting and have a read what works and what doesn't, there are even books specifically for the crossflow.
  18. Desperately needs lowering, clip ons, and rear sets.
  19. There is a reason they are refered to as Traumatics.
  20. Good work Sparkle, glad to hear that you made home in one piece. Also, I swoon your exhaust/navigation skills!
  21. You can't weld to the cast spindle, is this what you have done?
  22. If you are building a cafe racer this should be your only inspiration
  23. And you guys tried to tell me twink was better than vivid because it came off....
  24. Depending on how the cam bucket setup is on mitsi engines, you may need valve stem seal pliers. I made a set by welding a nut to an old pair of circlip pliers and cutting it in half, worked reasonably well, but not as good as the real deal.
  25. Not silly Al, I have heard of people using 1/8 BSP fittings in each runner then hooking them up to a collector tank, I'm not too sure about the balance pipe in the manifold above.
