  1. What are the rules around where licence plates can be mounted on a car???
  2. You are allowed to weld brand name struts now but the weld must not touch the cast. Mine will pass once I get new spindles
  3. Interesting. Mine didnt pass because the weld touches the spindle itself. Im going to get new spindles and get them rewelded. Yours touches the cast spindle to though. Must of got lucky haha
  4. Did it go through cert like the second picture shows??
  5. I have done 500km minimum. Havnt driven it overly hard but have taken it around some fairly bumpy back roads round the Wellington region. Makes me nervous though hearing about inserts snapping. Im pretty sure we swapped them. I definatly didnt pay $800
  6. I should really find out what inserts I have. Do you think there would be much difference between rx30 and gx71 as far as stresses go??
  7. I think we swapped them. It was Shred Motorsport that organised it because it was in there getting tuned at the time. Im going to see them soon so I will ask then. Contact BC as they should be ableto help out. Deff worth doing though
  8. fuck yea, is yours on decent width/offset Hayashi streets? Sweet wheel to get in the sort of config, must have been hard to find/pricey Looks tops! Think I'm doing the same set-up in my X61 markII, (did you guys use AE stuff or model specific??) has the rear set up actually got quite a decent amount of adjustment in it? Did it need to be modified in the rear also to suit the X70 series chassis? Played around with mine ages ago and found the spring seats on the lower arms were just too large in Diameter for the BC adjustable springs seats to sit over them. Thought an alloy spacer convertor-type thing would be trick/ideal for sorting it by sitting between the two and lining it all up but wasn't sure if it'd be too much work for the payoff or actually quite feasible? Old man an engineer with alot of his own machinery, but materials (alloy) might be fucking spendy Yea man thats my Vvti 1uz mx73. Those were just Rota Shakotans 15x9 0p all round with 25mm spacers and 195/55/15 tyresstretched on. Looking around at JDM wheels at the moment. Had my eye on some 14x9.5 Volk mesh. My BCs sit chassis on ground because we changed the inserts to something else. Where did you see my car? Has hardly been driven as its not certed yet
  9. How are you going about getting the digi tach to work?? Man Im going through cert at the moment and have had to resort to factory wheels and having the rear sitting high lol. As long as my car gets a cert plate I dont mind too much as I will be slamming the car regardless
  10. I have the same setup and would like to know the same thing. I think you set you ride height and then move the shock to the point where it keeps the spring captive. Mine seems to drive fairly nice but it would be good to know
  11. Raising the car slightly wouldnt hurt. As far as the welding the suspension is concerned if I am reading correctly (Info 05-2012 Welded Aftermarket Suspension Struts) on the lvvta website says I can do what I have had done?? The BC coilover kit came without spindles and were designed to be welded. I believe others around the country have had their coilovers certed under these new rules
  12. Went for a cert and was faild on the fact the my BC coilover kit was welded to the spindle? I thought this was allowed these days? It was done professionally and to a high standard. Second thing was that because of the IRS and lowering of my car has ment pretty big negitive camber and I have to get a wheel alignment to show that it is within Toyotas spec. Anyone know the specs by any chance?
