  1. I like this car. It looks like you are well set up and know what you're doing. So it's ready to drift now?
  2. Some where north of town would be good. I have something else to do untill about 8 so probably will miss dining but I will be along for a chat.
  3. A 4.1 to 1 Hilux diff head shouldn't be to hard to track down though.
  4. The crown wheel and pinion are a matched pair. Different gears mixed won't work.
  5. Thanks guys. Yeah Kk, not at the moment I just want to drive it for a while. I have kept the 245 head for later though. Efi hemi would be nice, happy with this at the moment. 265 rat rod?
  6. Could be a tracking coil, faulty thermostat, and a vacuum leak from a split vacuum hose or brake booster diaphram. My 2 cents.
  7. I've converted my Valiant to run a dedicated LPG fuel system. The whole Petrol system is gone. Its been an ongoing mission but today it fnaly paid off. The car is converted, Dyno tuned, has an LPG warrant, instlation cert, new Testing Station WOF, and rego. To drive it's better in every way, smoother, idles better, easy to start and goes just as well as before. Also $1.33/L at the pumps. It's early days yet but kays per litre seems better than petrol too. When I get a Rock Gas card $ per litre will drop again too. So yeah, so pleased with it. Photos. LPG filler is where the petrol filler was. Tank in the boot, lost some boot space, not worried. Impco L model convertor Impco 300a gas carb mounted on a Holley throttle plate. It works like a very large Stromberg. Done. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=23905&p=557639
  8. Yeah I'd be keen to to see you guys. I'm sure the usual Christchchurch guys will be keen too.
  9. So sweet! I felt bad on Friday that the problem wasn't resolved. Fucking mint.
  10. Honestly, I think the best option is to run a non balast coil and wire it correctly from the ignition. After looking under tha dash of your car I am fairly sure that the problem is due to a bad wire somewhere. You could wire a ballast system but with what you have It's going to take a bit of work.
  11. Bring it round on Friday mate. Save your money and don't buy a coil, it's unlikely to be that. We'll see.
  12. It's just an overlay, you can take it back off if you change your mind later. It won't harm the windows...
  13. 8-9 volts is wrong. Also the tail lights not working etc sounds odd. It sounds like a blown fuse that is being back feed from another circuit. Are you sure the fuse is not blown? Taken it out and looked at it? checked it for continuity with your multi meter. Also check no body has taken a fuse out of the fuse box and not replaced it. Hope that helps?
  14. Saw you tonight on the way home, made some odscene gestures at you too. This looks good, what a big difference some wheels and a "trim" makes. I felt tinted windows could be in order.
  15. It still has air in the system. Or it has a stuffed master cylinder. Try clamping the the front brake hoses and see how the pedal feels. If it's still low it is the master cylinder. If it feels OK you have a problem with the pads or calipers. It's very hard to say on line with out seeing the car
  16. Seen these Glen? Member on here too http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 689543.htm Good that you have a working heater too, I thought about donating mine but decided to keep it and refit it. Where does 105RE live? I'd be keen to see his car.
  17. Vacuum leak? Tight tappets? They might be two things to look into. Are you sure the plugs aren't tracking or some other part of the ignition tracking to ground?
  18. School holidays Bart. Kids trying to go little Johnny styles. Hey Sam, what kind of bike? I wouldn't be supprised if you see it spray canned and being ridden. Dumb shit kids.
