  1. Yeah that's a good point. I'm probably just a bit paranoid with American travel and wanted to be 10000% sure I have a good policy. I did briefly consider putting it on a card to do that (not mine), but didn't really have time to do my homework before the prices for my flights expired. Can put also use car rental / accommodation to trigger the policy which is good. Not a bad travel hack right there though, didn't think about upgrading CC to get those benefits myself, doh.
  2. Sweet thanks for the info. Good to know about Southern Cross too!!! Might hit up Westpac for a price then and see how it fairs. AA cheaper because member? US is unsurprisingly spendy for insurance from the brief look I did. Booked tickets tonight, so that is one thing sorted. Then I found out about the VISA waiver thing, so starting stressing, as it would make sense to do that first... Then I had to find out if I NEEDED 6 months on my passport which is what it implied, i'm about a week short typically. Found a list of countries that don't need it, phew. Filled in the forms and had it approved shortly after. Should have done a bit more homework lul. Anyway thanks for the heads up, will get insurance sorted, then worry about the rest way down the track.
  3. I'll have a dig through the other less than ideal USA thread to find some details. But who do you jokers use for travel insurance?
  4. Will copy pasta this to print out later. Less people is better @ Canyon, will check where Hoover is. Might need a bit more time out Vegas way given all the shit to see nearby. Comedy store is penciled in, hear about it a bit on the podcasts.
  5. Was planning on flying in and out of LA and just checking the area out, without spending half my time driving. Looks like there is a shitload to do in LA, but thought a couple of days in Vegas could be worth the drive? Not into gambling, but just to see it IRL. Bonus points for a Rogan show, UFC (obviously long shot given limited timeframe) and some chews. The rest I haven't even looked at yet. Will book flights and worry about the rest later. Canyon would be sweet to check out too. I'm just going to need to be creative with places I visit as to not have it cost a bomb. Can't afford to do all of the touristy stuff, but I imagine much like here you can see all the stuff for less if you avoid the most popular spots. I'm all ears for advice in that regard, ok to clog up this thread or make new one? Looking at late July, couple of weeks will be my limit due to $$$ and time off work for both of us.
  6. That's all good, just thought i'd check I hadn't missed it. Yeah I can understand not wanting to spend time doing that stuff while on holiday. Japan will be sweet, was actually deciding between the two, but i'm leaning USA for now.
  7. So um, did a blog happen? Linky? Pretty keen to hit LA up, so doing some homework.
  8. Sweet, might go for a looksie then if i'm down in time. Still have to check I have Friday off yet...
  9. What's the dealio with the cruise Friday night? Paid thing or just show up and watch people drive around in sweet whips?
  10. Depends on age of car too IIRC. Cars on the cheap old rego have two years* *check that yourself, I offer no guarantees
  11. What about the matching doors for those guards? Wrong shape for the wagon?
  12. Swap springs over and see if the height difference moves. /Cobra springs @ Chamberlains (if they still exist) will probably have some on the shelf.
  13. Yeah Cromwell show is always the same damn day as the summer tour concert

How good is the car battery and how good is this one? They both test up sweet under load? Unless the car battery is stuffed, it sounds like you're 'fixing' a problem that isn't there. If you're overloading the amp, you can have 100 batteries and still have the same problem. Old UPS batteries are probably on their way out to start with, they don't last forever. Just my2c anyway, sounds like you're on a mission to fit that battery lol, so best of luck.
  15. Their redemptions are legit. I'd say 1/3 of my shit has been "free" via redemptions. Didn't know that mymilwaukee site existed!
  16. Where is the deal? Deal for M18 battery (cheapest i've seen in a long time) and charger below is a good deal too, soon adds up, but would do the trick. Used my brushed M12 one today for doing up some bolts, so good. Not sure how long left on these weekly deals. http://www.thetoolshed.co.nz/Specials/Weekly-Ripper-Deals FWIW, you would probably use one more than me, but I couldn't justify the cost for M18 gear. So I run a M12 one for odd jobs, and an air one for the big jobs. They have brushless M12 units too, which would beat mine. But i've used mine for jobs it's not designed for... no worries mayte. edit: check these guys too https://www.hectorjones.co.nz/shop/powertools/cordless/milwaukee-cordless/m18/m18-bare-tools/m18-fastening.html
  17. Reminds me of that car Homer designed lol, just in camper form.
  18. Most panel beaters will probably do that, as for cost, who knows, should just be labour. Just go to a local one and ask for a price / getterdone. Next time add more dirt to the repair lol. Also no braking at all on a wheel, notbad.jpg.
  19. You can only trust yourself, I put lots of extra framing into my place as no other fuck cares lol. Any more progress pics? Got a move in / transfer from garage date?
  20. I'm glad photos can't give off smells. Nice work, quite the saving made by rolling up the sleeves and getting stuck in.
  21. What is the factory required specs? I used to put that in my 20v / 16v as they both used oil. I run synthetic in things now as they don't drink it. I guess it would come down to engine condition too. I run 5w30 fully synthetic in dailies here, but neither are '88ish. Grabbed a 20L drum on spesh as I got sick of storing more than one oil. Totally turning into a Ling post... but my main point was that I used that oil because it was cheap and the engines were pretty worn. So it comes down to factory specs / engine condition IMO. I spent a while sifting through the oil threads on here, Speeno seems to know his stuff on oil.
  22. Plenty of charts on aliexpress, approx M25. Just buy bigger and lathe that shit down. /beaten.
