  1. Success, went into AA this morning asked for MR2B, filled it inand was given a plate and 12 months rego for $109 Sucess by Andrew Whalley, on Flickr Figured id try AA as its just a couple of office ladies rather than grumpy vehicle inspectors. Only trick is that on the form the vehicle type is not on the list of options. Options list starts at "02" but a moped is "01"
  2. Just be warned that AC switches dont like DC. Probably not an issue with low current though.
  3. Yea seem to be going up a little in value, previous owner informs me its got a 70cc top end on it which explains why it goes so well. Plan is to go for a resto mod, basically restored back to original but maybe an exhaust and other minor upgrades along the way. Will see what happens. Going to to clean out the tank and get it running perfect then next week get it registered
  4. Right so picked this thing up yesterday, been sitting in a woodshed for the last 12 years, was used on a orchard before that hence the knobbly pirelli tyres and a welded on tow hitch for towing a trailer. IMG_1518 by Andrew, on Flickr IMG_1519 by Andrew, on Flickr I then cleaned it up, put air in the tyres, removed and cleaned the carb, put fuel in it, got sick of kicking it over so used a power drill with 17mm socket on the flywheel to turn it over. Then I rode it around until the fuel lines blocked up again (will remove the tank and flush it out) IMG_1520 by Andrew, on Flickr IMG_1521 by Andrew, on Flickr Not sure on plans for it yet, will get it registered then set about making the brakes work then fitting indicators, a battery and a new headlight. Will see what happens after that.
  5. Wont be that, thats when starting and the fuel pump wont start rather than during running and fuel pressure is stable
  6. Will just be a matter of research to find which bits to use. No need to make an easy job difficult. Its a Honda Civic so nothing is going to be rare. The distributor body may be model specific but the components inside will be generic. Why would they use one off parts for what is essentially a economy hatchback?
  7. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=945086&cc=1168130&jnid=336&jpid=6 ?? Its for usdm so not DOHC ZC but a on all other hondas Ive owned the sensor is basically the same only the plug differs so if the plug is the same it will work Dont have to use genuine parts, Honda will just tell you in the most expensive way possible that your car is old, fix it yourself and save $$$ Or even convert your car to OBD1 and use a modern ECU and distributor from a ZC EG5 Civic, pretty sure Matt (lotusboy) has done similar
  8. Ive bought some off ebay before, probably similar price tp having them made
  9. Keep an eye on trademe for Thule Stuff, I got a snowboard/ski rack for $50 in pretty much new condition
  10. Does the exhaust manifold have a bracket attaching it to the block for support? My car had a hairline crack through this which caused a rattle on decel only. Looked to be fine but when I pulled it of it was actually in two pieces
  11. This is soo sweet, will be able to give a fair few unsuspecting drivers a fright at the lights. Hear the diesel clatter then boom its gone
  12. Works wonders one the suede and cotton recaros so one would assume it would work on yours. Or hire a rug doctor, get a few mates around and do all your cars and split the cost
  13. To clean the seats a good water blasting usually does wonders. It is regularly done by people with Type R Recaro deats as the red ones get black marks all over them
  14. Put it in gear then start with foot on the clutch?
  15. Love it apart from the bonnet, nothing wrong with patina but intentional rust.... idk might as well put clear tail lights on it

    .

Its not finished snd I already want it! Need to find a cheap C50
  17. Dr Feek will be able to diagnose that, in fact blame him for causing it
  18. No idea sorry, he got them really cheap from some guy near waihi who listed a spare radiator on trademe along with a variety of other parts included so im guessing they were widened a long time ago. Test fitted some tyres but they were to wide at standard height then kids came along and thats as far as he got I think, he may read this and chime in
  19. Love seeing this progress, my brother has a 13/60 estate which is sadly off the road waiting for some attention that no doubt he will get around to when his kids are a little older. His old thread is here: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/28568-triumph-wagon/?hl=herald
  20. Semi Off topic but ive been in l.a. for almost a week and have seen three of these parked up around the city. Wasnt able to get a picture though as I was driving
  21. GT Refinishers has a pretty damn good match for Volk Racing Bronze....
  22. Tidy AW11 are such a head turner, look forward to seeing its progress
  23. Used to see this around whakatane. Sounds soooo choice
  24. Consider taking a look at the Hankook range, cant remember the model name but they featured heavily when I was researching tyres last time. I ended up going Kumho KU25 due to local availability at the time and have no complaints on my ITR, comparible to the Goodyear Eagle F1 they replaced and the Yokohama S Drive prior on both road and track
  25. Being NZ new it wont need a compliance check, I think its just a normal WOF check and you are on your way.
