Am borrowing some 10" rims to decide which I prefer. Have the front 8" one in getting a new tube as it goes flat within 20mins
-
Tempted but I will stick with the DJ. Even if its bumble bee looking
-
DJ will likely stick around for as long as my current job lasts. Perfect for comuting and the price (free) was just right. Just needs to be reregistered and its away. Wouldnt mind some 10" Dio/nifty fifty wheels for it rather than the 8" ones it currently wears

My riding skills and trust in reliablity of scoots would need to increase immensly, not even sure any can currently get over hill to ohope let alone east coast!
-
Soo not much done on the Chaly, its mostly complete. Just had some 3.5" wide rims arrive, need to aquire some 110/80r10 tyres, maybe 120/70 but apprently clearance on the rear is an issue. Still a pain to get started, usually 20+ kicks when cold Also got back the scoot we had when I was 15, a 89 Honda DJ-1. Suitably rough and has seen some shit. Has been sitting since 2013 but fresh fuel and started on the first kick. Plans are to daily it and maybe make a little quicker As for the Dax, its in the garden shed. Have a new loom for it and am researching options for disc front ends, extended rear swing arms and bigger engines

Gtst are 15x6.5 +50ish, GTR are 16x8 +35ish. Well worth paying the extra $$

I would be significantly more likely to keep following your build if it was all posted here rather than having to follow external links all the time. Its a cool car and interesting but meh to external links

I may have the picture in my head wrong, but wouldnt it be easier to simply build a trailer to tow behind the quad to get stuff up the hill?

Been eyeing up my old DJ-1 thats sitting in my uncles shed to do exactly this. Not sure if I need three scooters though
-
Im sure that p/plate used to be on a veilside R32 GTR around Kawerau many years ago

Ahh no. There is no camber rule for an uncerted cars. So you couldnt be pink stickered for having excess camber on a factory car with a heavy load. Height as well is measured unloaded. As soon as the car is certed and therefore no longer officially a "toyota" but rather a low volume one off vehicle then and only then is the camber rule applied

So the Dax has arrived, wee bit rougher than expected but not unfixable IMG_20161012_175218 by Andrew, on Flickr And the "collection" IMG_20161012_175145 by Andrew , on Flickr

So cool, screw JDM, you just know if you sold itmto import one that the new one would have secret chassis damage found during compliance or something annoying. Buy a shitty Demio or Vitz or somethig for a daily -
Just finalising purchase of this Dax by Andrew, on Flickr Apparently a '68 or '69 ST70, needs a bit of work but should be fun to slowly fix up alongside the Chaly

Put some brakes in the front hub, plugged in all the wiring, fitted the wind guard and rear carry frame. Ran it for a while but now I think something is sticking in the carb as it will just barely start, wont rev then dies. Spark plug ends up wet so I think its flooding itself. Anyway, pic Chaly complete by Andrew, on Flickr Will need to grab a battery before I can test all the lights etc

Willdat's this wasn't supposed to be a project Honda Beagle

Yea the one on/after the cat. Earth it permanently, usually a nearby nut or bolt to tuck it under -

Thats the catalytic converter light, just earth the wire and the light goes away -

What codes is it throwing? Check that the plug pins havnt pushed out the back of the plug -
I will see if it can get my fat ass over the hill first!

Have done a bit more, still need to connect all the wiring and finish up the front end (wheel is just sitting there, no brakes or speedo) Quite pleased with the colour scheme IMG_20160820_153735 by Andrew, on Flickr IMG_20160820_153726 by Andrew, on Flickr IMG_20160820_153721 by Andrew , on Flickr
