  1. Possibly, sus out YOWZER, I believe he was trying to arrange transport, if not, I'm happy to take my Levin of GAY.
  2. Just do a quick compression test before sourcing a new engine.
  3. Edited thread title to reflect being 5 years in the future.
  4. IIRC, blue smoke means you are burning oil. Eg. piston rings / valve stem seals etc. Black smoke is over fueling (common with diesels) White is burning water (steam) From what I gather, you are burning water, and your over flow has beeen filled.... Im my opinion, somewhere along the line the engine is pressurising your cooling system, whilst on non combustion strokes, the water is leaking back into your engine = head gasket. The same thing sometimes happen when you break a waterseal in a 13b (rotary).
  5. You can get a plug in link and bolt a S5 turbo on the side, should be good for just over 200kw atw. Conversion should cost less than $2500..... may not solve your issue, but would clear up alot of clutter on the drivers side of the engine bay / under the intake manifold though.
  6. A couple of weeks after buying mine, I had a problem like this. Car would acccelerate find off boost, but as soon as it got into positive pressure it would backfire, stutter and refuse to accelerate. After taking it to numerous workshops and paying $$$ in trying to find the problem, no one could figure out what was wrong with it. Something kept putting the ECU into limp mode. When I ripped out the engine for the rebuild, I found that 90% of the engine bay plugs were brittle and fell apart whilst trying to unplug them, and 40% of those were already broken and just sitting together with no force holding them together. The wiring was also hard and very brittle. That's when I had the whole damn thing rewired and did the single turbo conversion to get rid of the rat's nest.
  7. Ryan, you do have a point, however, if memory serves me correctly, the rear end of an mx5 weighs slightly less than a feather..
  8. ^ You can NEVER have enough wastegates / screamer pipes G WEST MAZDA WHATT!!!!! But fair enough. I like how this is shaping up. What sort of power are you going for, and how do you intend to get that power to the ground? (I mean overcoming traction issues)
  9. Yea, may give carting a go. Dependant on $$ available as I fly out the following Wednesday.
  10. Is it just me, or do you have a fetish for overpowered, short wheel base, rear drive cars?
  11. OOOOOOO may be keen on karts, will show up either way.
  12. I'm out of the country mid Feb, but all good. I'll be there in spirit.
  13. YAY, it means you can start bringing in FD's AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Was such a sweet event last year, even walked away with a girlfriend.
  15. YEA NED!!!! LOLS. Too bad, I'm comming up the following night to pick up my brother from the Airport. Have fun you guys!!!
  16. Sweet whip. (Insert generic hairdersser/gay/bumseks comment) Will you be going hard top with this?
  17. I'm pretty sure I saw a similiar looking car to this yesterday lunchtime at the bottom end of the Avalon Bypass in Hamilton. Was a red FC on Black rims, I noticed it because I hadn't seen it around before. Cannot confirm it was this exact car though.
  18. If I leave now, I'll get there just in time to say goodbye to all of you.
  19. Damn this is looking good. Awesomeness approved. Sooooooooooooo clean!!!!! That is all for now.
  20. I'm guessing that it would massively upset the airflow over the roof of the vehicle, and in turn, the rear wing.
  21. Hah, I have this problem too, even more so when the turbo gets hot. You can't touch the gearbox tunnel or you will burn your skin off. Just pop your sunroof and roll like a bawse.
