  1. Need to re-scale it to get the exact figure, however stockcars minus driver have to weigh 1400-1500kg Mine is at the lighter end of the spectrum - and even with me in it I would still be under max weight lol
  2. Time for a bit of a update; Welded the head plate, fish plates for chassis rails. Got green sheeted, had to tweak & alter a few things, lengthened the driveshaft. Took it out to a local black track for a run in, stopped, turned and seemed to go well, so rather than pull in and check I just went for it, went really rather well indeed. Made a few alterations after the test day.. Changed the diff head, radiator hose setup & fuel hoses. Near complete chassis Carby, Breather Setup Roof plate welded, hot work welding 10mm plate! Went to Woodford Glen for my first meeting in the car, had a fantastic bunch of people helping with the car which made for a stress free night, didnt have to worry about a thing. Proud to display RO Jones on the car, fantastic Job Scott & the team did painting the body, bonnet & dash! Stands out supremely well!! 33 cars fronted for the the night, I started all of them off the rear of the grid as I wanted to stay out of the way, whilst I get to grips with the car without pin balling around. First race went well in the fact I finished the race, 21st (22 finished), but the gearing was all wrong. Race 2 we put the RR onto the LR and the largest tyre I had onto the RR (225/75r15), instantly shaving 1.5 second off my best lap time from the race prior. Finishing 13th Race 3 we made no changes however the track was very slick and lots of people were spinning up. No faster this race, but managed 10th from the rear. Have a few changes to make again, and will try something with the rear end, but overall it handled well. Driver just needs to get up to scratch a little - more consistent. Big thank you to all involved who have helped along the way, advice, parts, time or materials. Thanks to the crew that came and gave a helping hand; Tim, Caitlyn, Crystal & Matt. - All made for a stress free first night. A few tweaks to be done, but overall very happy with the car finishing 3 from 3 races. Started them all off the back and went forward so that's a bonus! Especially big thanks to the Read & Blyth family's for their generous support throughout building the car. RO Jones for the painting of the Body, bonnet, Dash. Fast Blast - sandblasting wheels, components, advice, help in time & materials also Mag & Turbo of course for being on board right from the start, wheels, tyres
  3. Finally made it to oldschool James. Sing out if you ever need a hand. (Chris) Such a sweet project, no where near as simple as the others you've had so far though!
  4. Any spare fuel accumulator/fuel pump/cradles for K Jet?
  5. Is the radiator lower than the old one - you could have air blocks in the system creating hot spots? Does it have a shroud as well?
  6. Impressive work Ned, look forward to more updates!
  7. What's so special about those wheels? You should've let me sandblast them, would've saved you hours of work lol! Should look much nicer on the car once you're done polishing them IMO
  8. ^ Lol who are you kidding, just change the final drive ratio and pump those tyres up more/soak in bath of diesel
  9. Jesus, thats enough to drive anyone mental! Pretty ratshit someone stealing your fuel. Hidden cam them? Glad you got there in the end!
  10. Dan, help yourself in our skip 14"-22" wheel boxes and plenty of them. Go nuts
  11. Coming along nicely Pete, If you want to borrow the plasma cutter for a bit sing out! Got a heap of work done indeed!
  12. Not this season by any means, but would like to travel eventually. Whys that?
  13. I still haven't done anything other than the water blast yet - hasn't had a proper hot soapy wash, chamois & polish yet! Should be a fun little car once its going!
  14. Monty Checking out how grippy lol Not sure if please with his new living room ornaments.. Thanks to MM for the springs, we swapped my Original alloys for - sent them off monday morning, and received the springs along with the carbs from Japan on Thursday.. Put the springs on Saturday after work... Discuss; http://oldschool.co....ith-added-moss/
  15. Already have it, and wired up care of Dan from the Datsun club, very tidy job indeed!
  16. Correct yes you aren't able to run injection. The Injection manifold does however offer more torque over the flat plane style ea-eb manifold. You can run a distributor, however in instances of a big whack the distributor gear can fall off - which also drives the oil pump - things can quickly go south. Caps and rotors are prone to jumping and breaking, so I've opted to go for the ECU ignition only - rev limit, stronger spark and turn key reliability - well thats the intention anyway. Yes also have to run the stock exhaust manifolds.
  17. Would like to think so Brock, got a couple other things on my plate but the intention is definitely there. Car is only a 5-10min drive from yours currently. Should be able to fire it up within the next few weeks - Off to LA for 9 days so that'll slow me down.
  18. Enjoying the history on the car, also Alex, that Emblem is beyond cool!
  19. Should make for easier to change in the event of a broken hub etc - I have 3 other sets of hubs all milled - however havent made the steering arm brackets yet.. Want to make sure steering is fine before I commit to changing them all lol
  20. To give you a small idea, the front and rear bumpers, siderails I did in one weekend. Calculated to over 50m. I swear the welding torch felt like it weighed 20kg by the end of it. Went from doing 2m beads of weld to 2" before it was tiring on the sunday at the end of the day lol! I think Im roughly into the 3rd Spool of Wire now (we have been doing other jobs as well in saying that though)
  21. Drivebelt setup, Heavily modified tensioner from EA falcon, suzuki alternator.. Fast Blast Supplied Heat Sheild (Made in a turret punch) Steering arm setup
  22. Just got back into tinkering away again. Friend came over and setup the hydraulic throwout for me (shimming it up) I bolted/torqued up the new lightweight flywheel, 5puk clutch and heavy duty pressure plate.. Switched the rear caliper over (I had the Nissan 4 pot "right" on the left, thus bleed nipple at the bottom rather than top), shimmed alternator to line up nicer as well. Should give an indication on just how short the driveshaft is.. Bolted up the head supports, with extra padding..
  23. So I sand blasted the wheels, and had the powdercoated Dark Charcoal colour; Monty decided he needed to help whilst I was reassembling the valves.. Discuss; http://oldschool.co....ith-added-moss/
