Ashley manifolds have been known to be hard to beat for performance once you've managed to get them to fit... but don't expect them to last particularly long.
Sorry Felix, was up for it for sure and intending to join up at the Wheatie. Just had fun getting home last time. Had to drive fast to keep the screen clear...
Early tarmac spec APs will fit for sure... or Mote Carlo's. Fit over 260mm discs IIRC.
Edit: IIRC the Capri Owners Club in the UK do a system on 280mm discs that *just* fit under 13's
I'll pick you up round by the Wheatie. Weekend owners of said pub are no longer there / nor are the 'friends' they welcomed.
What time will you be there??
Don't quote me but I think it's the same fitting as the 2.3 cologne that was fitted to the Mk.4/5 cortina. So maybe a 2.9 cosworth (BOA/BOB) would fit as well???
65 minx will probably be an inertia starter, so a dirty worm gear may be causing the lack of engagement. But I reckon CJ's on the money about the solenoid.
Why? The tower is there as there isn't enough space to put it on the bulkhead, so you'd need a remote one. Unless you're upgrading to larger discs, I'd stick with the M16's and put decent pads in... well, I'd use vented 2.8i capri disks and spacers on the calipers.
Hi Chris, when not extremely poor, I'll be after a set of something decent. OE is 185-70x13, so 185/60 04 maybe 205/60?? No hurry though but the current ones are dated 1997...
Glad someone mentioned BRAKES as the first thing to upgrade...
You can get into so much trouble with a standard 1600 crossflow. Don't worry about more power, just work on stopping, steering, suspension first.
Cheers,
Steve
