  1. Interesting! I've got a friend that's got an Evo 1 and he was asking about running a MS, I'll have to let him know about this
  2. Nice work man, your welding looks goood Are the Evo ecus tunable/hackable or something?
  3. Shim that baby up about 0.7mm before you throw it in, you'll thank me for it.
  4. New extractors got a leak somewhere? That can make funny ticky noises believe it or not.
  5. Hey man, Trent should have my number if you guys want to come out some time just txt me. I've just pulled all the doors off to re-paint it but in a couple of months it should be good for a thrash
  6. ^^ damn that's cheap, seriously considering one for the turbo gem.
  7. Everyone hassles me about the Bellett. I'm holding it to myself to stop buying cars and finish what I've got first
  8. Been busy on this over the last week, it's now starting properly and everything works as it should (almost), just finished sorting out the ECU to trigger the electric fan via a relay, thought I'd take a video while I was there. It revs high at idle because the crappy old auxiliary air valve doesn't close all the way (crude ISCV) Video
  9. Good work man, engine looks awesomely shiny I noticed you have 30deg of advance at idle, dropping it back might help the idle speed? I had lots of trouble getting mine to start too, I ended up doubling the cranking PW and it starts like a champ now, I think it's set to about 800 at 15deg up from about 300, try some radical changes and see what happens, also what's your cranking timing set at? should be around 10ish
  10. They seem a little expensive IMO, can you not adapt something from a more common coilover? i.e I used S13 Silvia (Cusco) coilovers cut and welded to my old Toyota stub axles, they cost me about 150 bucks with 8kg springs, they just needed new shocks.
  11. Or you could put a soaking wet rag on the tank?
  12. Did he do some welding on it? That can fuck shit up if battery still connected, have heard of ECUs being fried from welding but I'm unsure how accurate that info is. You can actually buy surge protectors that clip on the battery to save time disconnecting it. Edit: that was pretty useless info, do what they said ^^ Edit x2: Got a spare ECU or know someone that has one you can try?
  13. Shortening your steering arms/knuckles will give you more lock. Cut and weld to suit, keep in mind this is illegal and can't be certed afaik
  14. You'll have to modify the "tabs" on the subframe where the trailing arm mounts, you'll see one mount has an eccentric bolt to adjust toe, the other is the one you need to modify (to allow up/down movement) and add an eccentric bolt for adjustment for camber
  15. Hey Spencer, would you recommend using epoxy straight over paint/bog that's been sanded with 240, then top coating in the same day? Or is is likely to shrink back and show scratch marks? Just wondering as I'm painting an old Isuzu truck this week, not a show quality job, but want it to be reasonable as I'm doing it for someone else. Normally I'd do a couple of coats of filler primer then sand with 400 before painting, just a bit scared to experiment with something I'm not used to on someone elses shit.
  16. This is fucking amazing, keep it up dude.
  17. Wheels, height controller set to max low, exhaust = win Looks brand new!
  18. Or buy a kit from Weir Performance, they are relatively cheap IIRC
  19. They're usually pretty worn out and hardly ever spin 2, mine made all of 45 ft-lbs of breakaway Pull it to bits and replace the spring in the middle with something of a higher rate, or convert it to a spacer and spring washers for max locking. Also give the clutch disks a good going over/clean up the grooves
  20. This is good to hear, I imagine your car would make a fair bit more noise than mine too. If I try a single muff first, would a stainless packed job be better than a coby? I don't want it factory quiet, but I don't want it to be too loud inside the car either. I think it'll just end up trial and error I can't really remember exactly where the fuel lines cross, Gaz. IIRC it's at the gearbox crossmember like yours Will do!
  21. Gunmetal ftw. 165s suck balls, although they did look sweet Had 165s on at the 09? nats trackday in the silver Gem and it was terrible! They will be used for skids from now on
  22. Had the same problem with the Gem's old exhaust, it cracked the extractors a few times from cunty driveways so decided I'd try a flexi this time. I might jump under it today and see if I can fit a muff up front somewhere, I think a coby would be the only option though.
