  1. , I've still got it somewhere if you need a muff for the 7A? Steps from 2" to 2.5 " to 3" with blobs of weld inside to create a venturi....
  2. Got sent some pics of my car and scanned them in. Theres a few from last years rounds and some from round 2 this year. This ones going in the Log book:
  3. May as well get them as close as possible to make it easier to mig / tig later on. It'll still be a challenge ... I used an arc for my first "exhaust" attempt for my AW11 when I was 15...... Blew holes, then had to fill them constantly. Might have helped if the welder didn't have a broken heat adjustor...
  4. Much better Ben, looks like it'll be tidy in the end. Are you running the celica twin pots from the grey car on the front?
  5. Im out. If it was the weekend after then it would be sweet, but the 12th = race day so no chance.... Maybe next month.
  6. Ditto here. May as well give it a try though... Just get some thin arc rods ~2mm or so and crank the amps right down. Just use the arc to tack everything into place and get someone with a mig or tig to touch it later on after you're happy with the shape.
  7. Have a play with re-locating the hole to change the roll centre, it's a good idea - the same concept as using RCA's on later macpherson strut setups. As far as those ideas on creating a similar arc between steering arm and lower arm, there are simple ways to figure out where the best spot for the steering arm is. Basically you want to make both arms share a common arc, and if you can do that there will be much less toe fluctuation = less bump steer. I'll tell you more when I get further into my book.
  8. Wouldn't worry about it too much. Slot the holes on the right hand side for max camber on left and right.
  9. ^Symmetry's gay... So you must be? I like it man, was cool to see this on the track.
  10. Sand down the needle, make an exhaust with a small coby as expansion chamber with a tiny exit pipe. Then roll with "choke" open at full throttle and gain 7-10kph. Mines a blue one, with blue seats and white guards. 2 speed trans from FS with the big wheel on the back = 70kph on the flat when it was fresh. Was lucky cause mines a late model with the different rear spindle so the wheel went straight on to the FS box. Pics when I can be bothered .
  11. ^^ That one is shortened by 40mm for the shocks, and that upper weld will be where they shortened it. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forum ... hp?p=75969 Oh also, always tig the sleeve or perch onto the housing. Mig ends up cracking.
  12. Getting keen to come down for this one... Possibly Me, Richie, Simon at this stage. Will try to trick Sparkle and Ogre into it as well.
  13. Was good night tonight, good to chat to you all. This month's meet featured 2 x B-outs.
  14. Oi don't tell them that!!!! I leave my steering locked all the time to just in case someone hot-wires it . Then they can only do doughies on it - surely that'd get boring after a while. P.S mine beats yours.....
  15. Perches are the common way of connecting alloy sleeves to steel struts, pretty sure it's cert-able as well.
  16. Do it John... Chuck fronte's on the hoists for atmosphere / if they fall no one will get hurt.
  17. We should do a random meet at the tikokino pub . Might have to call in advance to make sure they'll be open / will allow is though..... Would be sweet to have a few country beers.
  18. http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?f=q&sourc ... 1&t=h&z=17 Pretty easy to find. Theres a car park that goes from main to broadway that's sweet.
  19. Just use a normal style box and make a sweet goose neck shifter .
  20. Just found some vids taken by cxgpwr at a round of road and track:
  21. Went for a test in the rain today... Interesting. Race day tomorrow.
  22. Glad to see you got a new guard man. Still thinking about using a different diff ratio? I'll dig the van diff codes out if you want them. Was good to put name to face at the trackday last weekend, but it's a pity neither of us had our cars there!
  23. That you do. Come round tomorrow night - might be fitting shocks and springs back into my car all going well. We can search out the spring squishers and you can take all your poos home .
  24. Flipped looks like it will work bro , just need to do a bit of rolling / flaring. I have 4 195/50/15's in the back of the R31, you can use them for test fitment and can keep them if you keep rims flipped. 2 are safe and 2 are average (But all better then RR on the AW atm). Did you drive past my work and rev your shit today? Saw something black with silver rims blapping and ran outside but couldn't tell...
