  1. Dosnt that red one onto of the manifold normally go to the brake booster? Is there a vacuum line going to the dizzy? That maybe what the other one is for.
  2. No, its not. There are very few around, if knew of any they would be on my current engine with IDAs. GSR supporo is the only ones i know of. Also, read the rules in regards to posting in build thread.
  3. Prob gonna come along to this early. Keen to find somthing cool to waste money on/never use. Better get the lancer legal i guess...
  4. Does it have a side out exhaust? If it doesn't, i think it really needs too..
  5. Keen to come to next months one, didn't realise it was tomorrow!
  6. The older style i know are good for up to 180, maybe 200hp atw. No idea what the new ones are like. The older type ones are on the left found mostly in l200s. There where also some that where 4-2-1 that came out for l300s. Dont know if they are any better.
  7. There are a shit load of extractors around for the sohc 4g63s, so many in fact you will find them at auto wreckers. Ive even got a spare set i havnt been able to give away ffs. Unless you have done a fair amount of mods then i wouldnt even bother with the newer coby ones. Custom could always be much better but will be easy twice the price. My thoughts anyways.
  8. Theres a mitsi clutch that works, i thaught it may have been the 4g52 or somthing from the older chaindrive days, but fuck if i can remember what it was. ive talked to a few guys before that have put the stronger sigma 5sp behind worked up 4g32s So its definitely doable. Although a custom clutch isnt to expensive. What do the later model turbo 4g32s etc use as a clutch?
  9. Got a feeling a 4g52 clutch plate will solve your issues. Has the right spline count and the right dia. I think...or somthing along those lines.
  10. ^Yes Theres shit loads of info around about doing this.
  11. Yeah, rock the weber carb, re jetted etc and get a nice cam and maybe a freshen up if needed. Dont bother with a turb setup unless you wonna go with a starion engine or go the DOHC rout.
  12. That sigma you linked to, the owner used to be on here, he may give more info. I sold a gearbox to him years ago, cant remember his name or anything tho. I always thought that starions had front springs that had a smaller dia at the bottom compared to the top or is that only a specific year or somthing? Maybe im totally wrong, i dont know. The rear shocks should be easy as to find somthing shorter, just needs to have the same mounting design. Maybe LA?LB, EX lancer or old mirage might fit in using the sigma bushes or even just make up some bushes.
  13. Ive seen a number of the new holden commodores with the tinted front headlights. Figured it was a factory thing but i guess it isnt. I bet the cops dont get all on them.
  14. Go with the weber x10. I dont even think the 2.6 is a "bolt on" anyway. They are just as shit as the standard one and i doubt you would notice any benifit whats so ever apart from increased fuel consumption. You can get an adapter plate to use with the weber. trigger did it the hard way coz thats how he rolls.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Pi-zsh-ayb0 thats the idle. It was perfectly drivable, would rev to about 8000rpm before valve bouncing. it did like being nailed tho, but you could still just cruise around more than happily.
  16. CSL cams in palmy have a good grind (my old one). 290 degree duration, cant remember lift but runs fine with standard valve springs etc. gave alot more topend power without lossing much in the lower area, also the fuel economy wasnt to bad. I first had it running with the standard carb, but you will have to play with the jets. I suggest just jamming a weber 32/36 on their as you can fit whatever jets you want and dont have to pull the whole carb apart to do it.
  17. Ive looked into the same thing with my lancer, and it would appear that evo1-3 will fit behind 13" with possibly alittle shaving on the caliper. the older lancer EX GSR fits (i know that 100%) and maybe starion.Whether thats any better than any other option is debatable tho.
  18. You sure its not metric? looking at it i would guess at 1/4 BSP if its not metric.
  19. Used a water temp gauge as a oil temp before. Works fine.Guess you just need to make sure it goes high enough. I cant even remember how hot my oil used to get but it never went off the gauge or anything. But i do remember being surprised how hot it DIDNT get. I think placement of the sender would be important too. I had mine in the side of the head.
  20. Yeah, i would say a good 90% of the time its the oil. Its GOT TO BE LOW SAPS, but be aware not all low saps are equal. Most of the jap stuff only calls for low saps or C3 from memory, but i would roll with the 504/507 low saps as thats over 50% cleaner than the C3. I wouldnt rely on the dealers or any service centre using the right grade either. .pdf"]http://www.southernlubricants.co.uk/aqadmin/media/uploads/49a6c6740a596/Low%20SAP%20Oils%20Short%20[Compatibility%20Mode].pdf Kinda explains the issues

    SOHC 4G63 Woes!

    Nah. Checked the timing?

    SOHC 4G63 Woes!

Has it still got the standard fuel pump, and also it could be a blocked jet. The standard carbs are so bad for blocking specially if its been sitting or you have just swapped in new engine etc. it does sound electrical tho. The two wires that go into the dizzy ok?Take the cap off and make sure they arnt all worn out.
