  1. Can anyone tell me what the most common brand of servo motor would be in NZ, 50W to 2kW power size, not little drone or home cnc stuff
  2. do you have a dxf or dwg at a 1:1 scale? best bet is just to send an email to mulcahy engineering probably. info@mulcahy.co.nz
  3. steelmasters in onehunga make them custom for around 60-70 from memory
  4. Whos going to carry the crane up the hill?
  5. Theres a bunch of places around. Steel and tube, Easysteel, Asmuss, as well as a bunch of smaller steel suppliers. Saying steam pipe usually refers to schedule 40 or 80 pipe I think, I see easysteel refers to it as medium and heavy wall pipe. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nominal_Pipe_Size There are a bunch of people on OS who should be able to get you a deal on this stuff, not that it should be too expensive, but prices start to add up once you got v8 worth of bends. I can buy the stuff for you if you like, but probably easier to ask brocklee or someone. Send me your email and I can send you a slightly old price list from steel and tube as a guide for what you should be paying
  6. hmm, I see. this one does not go hard what is this I am reading about changing cam belts every 65000km or 3 years, what kind of garbo
  7. im looking at buying a peugeot 306 diesel manual 2001. I dont know the exact model. Do these things have cable or hydraulic clutch? google seems to say cable, but im not 100%. Pedal bite is right at the floor, so wondering what would need to be done to fix it depending on how the clutch works Are all 306 gearboxes a littel hard to change gears on? some bushes get worn out or something? I recall goats old peugeot had a weird gearbox
  8. good luck welding fuel tank back together, will be a good test of welding skills
  9. an air system that holds air is a myth. Theres many leaks I can find in your ideas, but instead of hassling you, I think you should do what you think is best, as I'm sure it will be fine
  10. need a couple more cylinders to lock the gate sections in place, my bet is that they are pretty easy to open even with full pressure on the cylinders still, super cool, get massive lines and no fuel controls to have it racing open and closed
  11. can you explain all the Link ecu's dave, they used to have 'buy to unlock' type features from memory, and now they seem to have a bunch more ecu's instead
  12. I have had custom leads made at repco before, I think you need to find a good dude behind the counter though
  13. Awesome man! You now need to show us all directions, components and how it all works in extreme detail
  14. just put truck on something flat and take a bunch of measurements until you find a discrepancy
  15. go for the new install, probably find you dont even need half the crap thats on your old computer anyway
  16. I have the hardcopy of the nz car construction manual, any way I could chapter 18 in PDF? My hardcopy is 18,000km away and I would like to do some reading. Don't want to rip of LVVTA but I already paid for it...
  17. I had an omex rev limiter, it was sweet. That doesnt add much though if you dont want to spend money, then need to spend some time figuring out how to do it. Put an arduino on it with some other nick nacks/sensors
  18. I put a SPAL fan on my escort after the repco one I had didnt move enough air. It wasnt cheap, but it had way better specs than any other fan for its size. http://www.autoair.co.nz/shop/Shop+by+Product+-+Retail+prices/ELECTRIC+FAN/SPAL.html
  19. My xflow motor doesnt build pressure for ages, and it loses it easily after the engine is turned off (to the point where I can hear it dribbling back down to the sump as soon as I turn the engine off). I never figured out what it was, but I bought a mechanical pressure gauge and it did build pressure eventually, it just took longer than any other car I have ever had. I have been running the engine for 4 or 5 years at this point and it has had a rebuild in that time (not oil related) and I have never seen a problem. I have a high pressure/flow oil pump fitted too from Burton
  20. I'm having a bunch of fun doing these arduino projects, can think of so many sweet projects you could do with this stuff. Cool project would be to have a light sensor and turn on headlight relay when there is no light outsite. maybe when I get back to NZ I can make that project. Use a 3D printer to make a little housing Also crusty escort wiper motor control. The OG ford switch has some tricks inside it to make sure it returns home when the wipers are switched off, but I havent been able to find a replacement, other than using an aftermarket headlight switch and losing a speed on the wipers
  21. ah, I thought it was injected because you were talking about injector cleaner just adjust where the throttle plate sits at idle then? if you have a manual it should tell you where the adjustment should be. alternatively, adjust it until it runs
  22. intake air temp sensor reading wrong so wrong warmup enrichment?
  23. its not $100 solution, but you can buy 1 phase in/3 phase out vsd's. we use this type alot http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/inverter-drives/6211234/ it makes it legit
