This is a great build, dont be a wuss, pull it apart have it fixed for monday

oh yeah if your intrested, i have a xf motor laying here thats been rebuilt, sweet cam, bored, new pistons, line bored, balanced, new oil pump fuel pump, recoed / re jetted carb, i used it for 3 months in my boat then fuel leaked on the distributer and the distributer burnt out. it also has a super ugly/rooted valve cover and some random old marine parts on it.

you can make an adaptor plate and use your current headers/exhaust, if you have them allready engine mounts are slightly diffirent from the original, but not much gearbox is bhousing pattern is diffirent

thank you kindly for furnishing me with this thing that will probibly kill someone eventually

Im waiting for glue to dry on this thing so decided to make a photo journal. So once apon a time there was a boat that worked in the no longer used mangere sewerage ponds, It was made from bits of other boatds and bits of trailers, It was put to tender, my father purchasing it for $1500 big ones to use to clean up the Onehunga lagoon, which had a weed problem at the time, So it did this for a few years getting beaten up, (at one point the entire top ripped off it, pushrods were regularly straightened with a hammer etc), once the lagoon was tidyed up, it sat in storage, looking like this One day me, Peter T and my old man decided to go for a hoon on the manukau, so we bashed the pushrods straight, and took off to a sandbar for lunch, then Peter T and I decided to give it a paint job, a new engine cover, a new exhaust, alloy cylinder head, a late model webber, join the Manukau crusing club and enter some DYO racing, and wakeboarding which was great. So now it looked like this The trailer was hacked together, and had a 100kg counterweight, so it was shortened, new guards, blasted and painted bright green, which turned out to be a bad colour choice when a guard fell off on the motorway one day, so it was then re-re-hooped out and painted grey after the police kindly gave my guard back. So then after a few of these sweet ford crossflows, modified carbs, big cams, etc, the final straw was our bad-ass line bored big doller new everything bus engine caught on fire on the waikato, Some nice guy towed us back Next was a link storm, a xr6 n-a engine, and the associated adaptor plates, and a reco jet unit, Which Vvega tuned and was great at 60 something kph Then after a few teething issues and a lumpy broshaft, It was good for a few more kph, and most importantly, 2 chicks said it sounded badass without being asked, which made it worthwhile. Neither of them was liv my gf which was a double bonus. After a un-fruitful skiing season, too much work and not enough play, combined with Independent brewrys stopping producing Bighorn lager, a Waterskiers staple food, we barely got out in this thing, Then one day , I saw phreaker off here was offering his eaton M90 to marktenfizz, So i snapped that stz up and put it on, whith some JILLYYZZ AU. And then Vvega came to auckland, we put in a walbro pump, some big injectors, braved a tsunami, and we went and tuned that shit, which was reasonably uneventful, note the sweet dry tuning exhaust. which made for a metric back to the futuristic 88kph, The boat is on the verge of falling apart at this speed, as the first picture shows, the hull is a pig wearing lipstick. So now just a few teething issues like the starter falling off to fix, and glueing bits of Exeloo toilets onto the lid to cover the supercharger, (which ive sent to be sign written with some cool stripes and stuff, hopefully it turrns out cool) And yeah we kept tearing the floor out, so i cut it up and made it super strong, Its really loud, I dont think Jillys were a good investment, Will take a better picture of it when its outside next, have a build a new pole too. And thats it for now, thank you for reading.

yeah thinking about it im pretty sure ive seen before you can just miss the extra throughbolt out and the only thing that matters is watching out you get the waterseals in the plates or housings if you get housings with grooves and plates with grooves you can use 2 sets of waterseals, just whatever situation that you have no grooves in plates and no grooves in housings is no good -

and a dwell meter! they are like $2 off trademe

turn the ign off take the cap off pull the rotor out turn your multimeter to continuity check beeeper put one probe on the battery negitive post put the other on the coil negitive post open and close the points with your finger, toe, or tounge. if it doesnt stop beeping report back here and say "it diddnt stop beeping!" if it beeps and stops congratulations you can continue to the next step. next, turn the ignition ON turn your meter to 12V DC test mode. put one probe on the negitive battery post, the other on the postive coil post if everything is ok your meter will read 6 volts (or 12 volts) if it doesnt, report back here and say "it doesnt have power at the coil in the ON key position" if it does, continue to the next step. leave the multimeter probes where they are, and watch the meter as you crank the engine over, if it reads zero, report back here that "i dont have power at the coil when cranking my engine" if it reads 6 or 12 volts, continue to the next step. now, buy a dwell meter. take your spark plugs out, (label where your leads go first!) now with a socket ratchet thing turn the motor over by hand, watch what the points are doing, set the point so it just baaarreeely opens at the "high parts" of the thingy that pushes it. put your plugs and leads back in gently (if you drop them or anything, report back here!!) now connect your new dwell meters black lead to the coil negitive post, and the red lead to the positive coil post, re assemble your distributator, now crank your motor and look at the dwell meter, keep adjusting the points and ressabling your distributer untill you get 50 degrees of dwell, dont rush you have allll day!!!!!! congratulations your ignition system is now working correctly and your point gap is set correctly. dont touch it again!! report back here when you are done!!!!!! but wait...your car still wont start? we now need to do 2 things, 1, check your leads are in the right order, check condition of leads and plugs, and 2, you will need to set your ignition with a timing light now too, but we will cover that once you have reached here. enjoy your evening!!! dont rush!!

did you set the dwell angle on your new points or just slam them in? kkkolonial gets upset if you dont clean the contacts with a little something something before installation too, but i think hes a weener.

but i take it apart more often than i race it (which is never) based on popular opioion ill put an air one in it it would be good to get one that could do both trans and motor as my gearbox has a (oem) radiqator too and im kind of having radiatorintercoolergearbioxcooleroilcooler overload.

on my mazda b6t motor it comes factory with a really queer oil cooler mounted on the filter pedistal that uses coolant to cool? it. it really looks gay with all the rats nest of heater hoses required to use it, im pretty keen to put it in the bin as its the last thing that makes working on the car/replacing motors and stuff a chore im kind of thinking its just there to extend oil change intervals or something, none of the other 90's small 4cyl turbos seem to have them?? i feel like i have read that statement somewehre before?? maby if the oil gets too hot i can just turn the water temp down to like 70 deg to keep the oil cool??????? i think ill do it regardless edit ah yeah its a racecar that sees about 1 day of track time a year

Unbeilievibly cool!
