  1. That sucks a bit, what defines readily accessible? The cluster is 4 screws to remove and reveal the masters so is that considered 'ready' enough do you reckon? Or does it have to be an unobstructed install? Thanks, the length I can't remember off the top of my head I'd need to go and measure, unsure how they feel at the moment but I think they'll be on the stiffer side rather than the softer.

  8. This car was being a real dick, and not keeping much of it's oil inside the bit where it should keep it, as a general rule. So I thought I'd replace the rear main and some other seals and gaskets. Here's my step by step picture guide to doing this. Sealz. by Richard Opie, on Flickr End. But yeah I also stuck a new clutch in it and stuff, because why not eh? End result was it still leaked from the spin on filter adapter. With some research it turns out that my filter adapter was the old type, and the seal surface that mates up to the center of the filter spindle or whatever you want to call it was fixed. Now there is a discrepancy on these blocks, between the outer and inner seal surface heights of the original cartridges because machining tolerances sucked. So these old style adapters had no way to take up this difference and leaked. A lot. I bought an updated type with a floating/spring center flange bit thing from Chris Witor in the UK (boss level service I will add) and fitted it up. I think I cocked up and forgot to take the old large O-ring out so now there is 2 sitting in the groove so I probably need to sort that out. But that's a 10 minute job tbh.   18. I lost one. Just a 1/2" UNF nut, it's currently still missing as I deemed it unnecessary.
  19. 2016-08-22_03-55-20 by Richard Opie, on Flickr Chucked the wheels on, and adjusted the aprings to ensure a lower ride height with an increased spring rate. Also replaced stuff on Saturday, including: - rear main seal - rear main seal housing gasket - sump gasket - input shaft seal - full clutch kit No bolts left over.
