  1. For a vehicle pre 1989 its like a through WOF. For compliance they'll see that fab work has been done and ask for a repair cert which might a bit hard to get if you're not a ticketed welder. Best talk to the place doing the compliance before starting as they have the last say.
  2. What sort of flare do you want? I could bung it in the lathe and roll a bell mouth on it (or attempt to)
  3. oh, lol, was thinking you should of known the difference. The W55 in the GS126 has a steel center so that ruins that theory.
  4. Different ratios is the difference according to Wikipedia.
  5. Likely an E series diff. 6.5" crown wheel as opposed to the 7.5" of an F series. Post a pic of the ID tag on the firewall. That will Have the info. Someone here might know if it's possible to bolt in swap an F series.
  6. Turns out I've got 4 fans and visco couples. Funny what you find when you go for a look. So it's yours for $20.
  7. I wouldn't be keen on the torque of a 1UZ through an E diff. Then again I'm tempted how much boost I can shovel into the LD28 before the H165 goes bang in the VPJR30.
  8. I'm good with numbers, words were never my thing. Can't woo a woman with calculus though.
  9. does it have an F series diff? If so the LSD unit out of an Altezza or the front of a 4wd hilux will fit.
  10. did you guys miss the pic of the box around the filter and the words "It will draw air from the vent by the windscreen."
  11. Settled @a.craw4d I'll come get you on the Friday before if @igor can't. Bring some Boose and don't worry about social skills. Several of us don't have any.
  12. The headers are for a mate who now owns horndog's old Gloria. I keep telling the fool to sign up to os and come to Hanmer. I stared tweaking up an L26 for my Cedric but decided that LD28T is the way to go. So mate is going to use the L26 in his car with CBX1100 carbs. She's going to be a little fun to tune. You comming to Hanmer @a.craw4d? Or should I say you are comming wheather you like it or not.
  13. I've got to make sure I don't need the visco couple for the GS126.
  14. Any use to you @sheepers? Probably not now that I've found the build thread and the size you want.
  15. @a.craw4d If I gave you a flange and some mandrel bends how many pinga/beer/firm handshake would you need to turn it into some nice tiged flows?
  16. Spent time on the skyline this weekend but it was mostly hooning around buying stuff rather than actual work/fixing. Got a rust fucked car out of a guys back yard for parts. It should be good for power assist steering, interior parts, couple doors, bonnet, guards, and maybe the hatch with a little work. But the right taillight is fucked. SHIT. oh well. It was a bastard to get on the trailer with the rear wheels having no tyres and the front being flat. The other wagon I looked at seemed too good to strip for parts even though it was a little rusty. Spot the double mirror option on the drivers side. The actual work I did do was removing the damaged front and inspecting for rust. Nissan painted theses things after assembling them and as a result they usually rust out behind the front guards and in the A pillars. It would appear someone has had the guards off previously and gone to the bother of painting the inside. Nothing major on the passenger side just some surface rust in spots. Drivers side was a bit worse and dirt was packed in the bottom of the guard causing a small hole in the sill which will need dealing to. The wack it had in the front was all superficial and only bent a corner on the slam panel. Next weekend will be attacking it with a wire wheel, Brunox, And some paint. And hopefully get an engine running for it.
  17. I took the Crown Coupe through Cert with a leaky rear main seal. I did ask the question and basically the response was "As long as its not hosing out and putting oil on suspension bushes, brakes, etc it will be fine." leaking Fuel would be another story. Gave the underside of the car a steam clean and the whole car clean just to be sure. From my experience if you present the car well, show good workmanship, and make the certifier's job as easy as possible then you should be fine.
  18. cars aren't hard either. as long as its up to wof standard you should be fine.
  19. Plumb secondary air pump into carb for boost.
  20. TBH you're right but I'm still blaming you. Brocks mate has come through and has a parts car that can donate some wagon specific parts. @kyteler I might be keen on some seats and door cards depending on what the ones in this parts wagon are like.
  21. Seeing as you did some pining over a big block caprice, is an RB swap and 4 speed manual on the cards?
