  1. Built a ghetto sheet metal folder thingy on the end of my welding table 2 sections of grader blade from the scrap bin at work and some gate hinges from m10 +angle iron for handles+ random bolts and some old handles from my hoard - also has some cut spring from a fox 40 bicycle fork so it springs back up for loading and unloading Not bad radius on the bends may need to reinforce and tension the middle of the blades
  2. 24v system charges at 24 or above but each battery only sees 12v do a quick multimeter check will show you what I mean Treat each battery as seperate with insulated clips - balanced charging would be nice but not essential
  3. Nope battery’s in series for 24 volt don’t equalise between themselves can charge one or the other while connected to vehicle easy as on solar as long as you don’t muck polarity up - matched solar 12v on each battery would be best or switch one between as needed charging rates may be different but that’s what the regulator is for
  4. Mx5 / viva / vw / escort / kitcars - 200hp and lighter than an iron 4 pot
  5. Mazda / ford kl v6 would be excellent in a Sierra - designed by Porsche mate …
  6. What parts washer do you have ? The stupidcheap parts washer pumps are for water based only supposedly
  7. Recommendations for a good cheap non solvent fluid for parts washer ? looking at simple green or crc exoff both in the concentrate version to save shipping costs and pref delivery naow Local mitre 10 is no go for delivery cos COVID at mitre 10 awards ceremony and my prelockdown Bunnings order is still not here
  8. Nice build very inspiring If you can’t tweak your brake mounts to perfection then decent bike shops have disc brake mount facing tools and shouldn’t charge a lot to do it - I have bent the rear disc caliper mount on my steel dh bike a few times and just tweaked it back into alignment
  9. I’m liking this cyclonic filter and or water bath ideas - have been running a cheapo China carbon pod filter as prefilter for the vacuum - it’s amazing what it catches but astounding how much it still lets thru + 1 on fit a decent light and now keen to try miracle spray on the screen and some glass bead
  10. Yeah this looks like it could be fun and only 2 ish hours away from me What are the other classes up from 1300cc ? Where would a 2.5 litre fit ? so it’s autocross on a gravel formed track rather than asphalt and cones ? Almost rallycross ?
  11. Die grinder and paint won’t make me the welder I ain’t ...
  12. Was that suggestions of more stuff that doesn’t involve finishing the wiring nightmare procrastination?
  13. Been a while - it’s been exhausting ... built some very dodgy 3-1 headers to fit thru the incredibly small gap between motor and front subframe - down into a pair of flexys and then 2-1 was aiming for a crossover and twin pipes to the back but nope not enough room thru rear subframe - wideband goes in the top of the 2-1 join then piped to one big muffler at the back Needs to come back out for a tickle up and paint then I’m gonna call the exhaust done
  14. Best option for tilt cab thru loft floor I have seen is loft floor has hinge across the middle and tracks/ rollers on the outside edge - hand winch under cab to raise it before tilt cab - will grab pics off mates one if I’m near it soon Gonna need a lot of room to tilt a twin cab
  15. TNL Facebook page barries will know where that truck ended up and probably remember the wired kit taking photos ... Transport (Nelson) holding Ltd page ...
  16. I think the only things I have ever shipped with youshop is auto parts - eBay rock auto or Amazon free shipping to Portland Oregon USA thanks - then youshop no problem even for used auto parts
  17. Maxspeedingrods is a known brand name right ?
  18. Yup there’s the cletus seal of approval Well worth checking out crossover steering to sort a lot of problems in one go I think I was down to last days before repay for another cert check so went with the option that was already half built
  19. No photos it was a while back now but was on the modern Lvv cert system Basically 2 bits of 5mm steel plate shaped to the diff tube and boxed in to replicate the mount on the diff pumpkin but on left hand side and slightly lower mounting ears at the top for more clearance - that’s why it needed the adjustable arm Also had to replicate the upper mount on the crossmember / chassis that it mounts to Had a look at my old thread on off-road express circa 2007 but pics are long gone Does seem if you go to the “crossover “ steering conversion then the torque arm becomes obsolete and frees up a lot of room and more flex for serious off-road and may be easier
  20. Yep well worthy of an entry - skid factory will love it cos safari and surely there is some worthy bracketry - tis a very cool well executed clean looking conversion
  21. Yup torque arm on front axle gets in the way of most sumps My “cough” RV8 lux had no torque bar when I bought it and hitting the brakes hard made front axle roll forward on springs - wheels go to left - steering wheel goes to right - very very frighteneing Made a new mount on axle other side from the pumpkin and fitted adjustable torque bar from nz4wdbits - sorted and certed
  22. Gas cooker / bbq hold them in the flame with pliers til cherry red
  23. Yep always been a fan of laverda triples - they sound so good
