  1. Um not really when the 16 series are about 150-160 on tard me …
  2. Apparently some machines call 30% positive 70% or some tucked up shit - like whole backasswards to the other manufacturers and yeah it makes tungsten not happy if you set wrong way So yours may be minus 30 ? Been watching a lot of this guy like his plain fucking English approach and covers from simple to in-depth as possible
  3. Yup got pedal bottle new gloves and all sorts of consumables sitting here - haven’t even opened the boxes yet lol
  4. Nothing new that is being pushed recently ? So no holes drilled and glue them on with some super sika bond steel glue is all good ? I guess drilling holes to bolt in a no cert needed half cage would also need cert ?
  5. So I am hearing a vicious rumour that the bolt on floor stiffeners that are common aftermarket fitted on Mx5s are now something that requires cert ? fake news or ?
  6. ^ wow - I use magnets a bit and have never noticed anything that crazy
  7. Sometimes frames crack but the powdercoat doesn’t til frame failure
  8. Yup just bought same ac/dc tig and sorted an argon bottle and starter selection of filler rods sooo many settings to get head around oh well keeps the old grey matter alive new stuff is always fun
  9. Au falcon fans are a cheap slimline option
  10. @NickJ did you get the foot pedal included or did you buy the $ 200 foot pedal seperate ? argon reg is included ?
  11. Yup been looking at that too - keen to hear your thoughts once you have had a bash with it
  12. Hmmm does it have the drive gear on the tailshaft to run the vss? Looks easy enough to get drilled/ tapped once you have the housing off the tailshaft NC info is scarce prob the least modified model-Aisin 6 speed ? Shares some bits with the Rx8 ? Look at flying miata see how they work around it on their engine conversion ?
  13. Fuck yeah - show us more - best shape falcon ever and a Ute
  14. Thanks still trying to track down the sparky who did the work if I can’t find him I will hit up the electrical inspector from power board I know
  15. At a guess it’s the newest on the house board and I suspect it’s 32amp
  16. Right you electrical wizards Looking at buying a swim spa to install down the back of section behind the shed - electrical requirements are hardwired 1x 32amp and 2 x 10 amp When we did shed power we did think of small spa and ran extra / also have a caravan circuit and plug down there but our sparky who installed is incommunicado Shed board has 63amp rated main switch if that means anything Any ideas why a swim spa needs 3 hardwired inputs ? Is the average home switchboard that then runs 60+ metres to a shed board then another 20m gonna cope with the draw ?
  17. Like the “engineer” who was certifying heavy truck tow systems that was a muppet and had all his certs recalled Modified vehicle is a specialty not for your average engineer

  19. Yeefucken ha it lives … After much mucking about for the last few weeks finally sorted and configured link to make some noise Engine wiring only basically breadboarded for testing just the basics crank trigger ignition injectors and fuel pump and TPS Spent so much time chasing why it would spark fine on ignition test but not when cranking - read so much link guide and forums and was almost convinced the Toyota coils I have were dumb but no Triple checked that no odd settings were doing engine kill and that all was as it should be - trigger scoped many times - changed crank sensor - nope Changed trigger 2 to “hall sensor “ sync = none …and I am only using trigger 1 36-1 wasted spark and it fucken just started and idled lumpy as Now to get some cooling hooked up tidy and wrap wiring and get some fluids into box and clutch hydraulics
  20. Thanks for that link I had missed where he went and was just seeing the odd bit on Insta Great story teller
  21. Undo the reg off the bottle when not using it and they seal themselves Last about ten minutes full on welding so not cheap unless you buy on special and just use for the odd thing you need better welds than gasless - I burned thru 3 then just got a rental D cos that was pretty much the cost of a years rental Plus buy another reel of wire to use with gas and swap polarity on welder
  22. Built a ghetto sheet metal folder thingy on the end of my welding table 2 sections of grader blade from the scrap bin at work and some gate hinges from m10 +angle iron for handles+ random bolts and some old handles from my hoard - also has some cut spring from a fox 40 bicycle fork so it springs back up for loading and unloading Not bad radius on the bends may need to reinforce and tension the middle of the blades
  23. 24v system charges at 24 or above but each battery only sees 12v do a quick multimeter check will show you what I mean Treat each battery as seperate with insulated clips - balanced charging would be nice but not essential
  24. Nope battery’s in series for 24 volt don’t equalise between themselves can charge one or the other while connected to vehicle easy as on solar as long as you don’t muck polarity up - matched solar 12v on each battery would be best or switch one between as needed charging rates may be different but that’s what the regulator is for
  25. Mx5 / viva / vw / escort / kitcars - 200hp and lighter than an iron 4 pot
