  1. Too much effort, just buy some plates and tags off Hustle Live/Dirty south car club/OFFICIAL NZ RWD Toyota - Buy / Sell / Trade & Advice. /Hopefully they don't just keep on finding things. What did they find this time?
  2. I'm gonna retract my recommendation for buying chinese distributors. Mine has developed some play recently and makes the engine feel pretty dead/rough between 2000 and 3000 RPM under high throttle. Gonna put the Toyota electronic distributor back in today.

    Gearbox oil

Stay away from GL5 if the transmission has brass synchros. EP additive makes the gears hard to change when cold and also slowly shreds your synchros as the EP additive bonds more strongly to the surface of the brass than the brass does to itself. Get some VMX, it's like $60 for 4 L or something on a normal day.
  4. I've got a Boursin electronic distributor in my car. Build quality is surprisingly good. Gonna keep an eye on the bushes though, done half a year's worth of driving with no issues however. My only gripe is that a genuine distributor cap doesn't fit on it, can't remember if it is too tight or too loose. The buggers have tripled in price on aliexpress in the last year as well, now they are way too expensive.
  5. I don't think Fielding is gonna win any awards for beauty for a while with that thing in its current state
  6. Gotta give the common peasant something to aspire to once in a while
  7. Don't worry about the tow bar for wofs on the anglia, they do not require a cert. (Although they probably should, seeing how shonky some can be)
  8. Decided I may as well get a valuation done for insurance purposes for once: I may have to increase the amount my car is insured for... Also, the few little dings near my fuel filler are gonna come out on Wednesday and I'm looking at getting some seat covers made up for the front seats.
  9. I think NickJ has a tow bar on his lada, but it has one of the silly old round light connectors so would need an adapter?
  10. I didn't know they asked us to leave.. Must have looked like a rough bunch with our old lumps of rolling rust
  11. My brother showed me a good trick where you put a socket and breaker bar over the end of a screwdriver with a hexagonal handle. Also, it could just be a case of heaps of dust buildup on the shoes. You could try and spray heaps of brake cleaner into the drum through the adjustment holes or something if you can't get the drum off/probably won't really help though
  12. I might have to join a fastvoy... Don't want my plugs fouling up if I'm stuck at idle the whole way up
  13. A super worked 4K with a 'lumpy cam ghe' will solve all your problems and still sound like a rotor - all without any vacuum lines at all
  14. I once had an issue where the oil pressure and voltage gauge back lights didn't work on my AE92. Then one day my overhead lamp short circuited and melted a wire/blew a fuse (was a while ago, it might not have blown a fuse actually). Ever since that day my oil pressure and voltage gauge back lights worked perfectly. /Look for something stupid like a blown bulb somewhere else in the car. You may even find that the two lights that aren't working are on some different circuit like HEATER or RADIO.
  15. The problem seems to be that these photos don't get cached for some reason like 90% of other threads do so it seems to have to reload the whole lot each day I visit your thread.
  16. I reckon it is time for a new page on your main thread, the pictures are taking an age to load now.
  17. Molasses is apparently good for getting rid of surface rust
  18. If I went home with something like that my dad would call me a fool and cut me out of his will. I want to see this fixed
  19. #WARNING MASSIVE UPDATE AHEAD# /Not really But yeah, after two years of searching I finally have a somewhat presentable front bumper on my car. The new bumper is 32 years old and has traveled three times the distance of the car so it's not in perfect condition but it is definitely a lot better than the original.
  20. Also just dump in an electronic distributor. No point sticking with points when the electronic ones are getting so cheap with the influx of surprisingly high quality chinese ones.
  21. This can shut 'ya lovers of low up.
