  1. man that is gay. On a positive note i have a spare head laying around you may be interested in. Im sure a man of your engineering genius could modify it to fit.
  2. also plan to jam an old pocket bike expansion chamber on for max old lady annoying ruckus, and gunna mill 1mm of the head for some compressions. also forgot to mention the top tube that is def needed to stop it from falling to bits haha
  3. So I brought a fucked FA50 off some joker on here that had a super bent super rusty frame and the exhaust threads in the barrel were chooched and someone had tried to weld the exhaust to the barrell. Then cam gave me his bent FA frame so i had two, then sparkle aquired a whole bunch of FZ50 bits (pretty much a hole bike except frame) so i decided to hash the lot together with no real plan or direction. heres what happened - decided that it might be a good idea to use a little centre frame piece from the rust FA50 frame to stretch the other one, bent the other one straight before i did this- then cut a section out of the rusty FA and jamed in in the centre- I really like the steel FZ wheels cos they are wider and can get lush tyres for them, im going to trim the frame so i can run the entire FZ engine / gearbox and use the FZ rear wheel, will run a 110/90-12 tyre to get the same rolling diameter as an FA wheel which sould give it a bit longer legs. Also running the FZ leading link front forks, to do this i sacrificed a set of FA forks to cut the tube out of them and then cut the FZ tube out and welded the FA tube into the FZ forks. Works out looking something like this - also trimmed the seat a bit flatter, mate of mine has a powdercoating setup so will PC the wheels, bars and possibly rack black. Frame will go red as i have left over red from the rally car. So far it owes me $40, aim is to finish it for under $200 including new tyres and powdercoating, air filter, seat vinyl etc. Penny Pinchers SC for life
  4. What's the benefit of ke30 rotors? Are they ke30 Calipers also? Are they slightly bigger?
  5. that makes me feel bad for the amount of times i slashed an ac hose at pick-a-part as i flipped the bird to mother nature
  6. there are a few around, best luck is probably buying another pair where one is rooted, or some old barry with one under a bench etc, i have a few people keeping an eye out for me
  7. Chur hurrr, your 40s are dellortos not webers. Turned out one of them was actually fucked, slogged out on the carb itself around the butterfly shaft or something, ole Jim got setup there I think. He gave me his 40s that are now on the rallycar so in turn for that I'm now trying to find a good one to make yours a pair again, hard thing is finding a single Carb not a pair, and all the singles I have found are shitty late model economy ones. So if anyone knows of one holla at this white boy
  8. Yea pretty much all chevoiur wheels take shank nuts
  9. My father in law is a mechanic and has 3 AEG ones, one in the rally car and two in the workshop, they take a beating and he loves them. Massive warranty on them too and pretty fairly priced.
  10. partially used rally tyres are probs cheaper than normal tyres, most people throw them away when they are about half worn
  11. This thing needs to be in my garage, getting a rollcage, with a future of gravel chucking
  12. what size chokes is it running now gator? i would have thought 34mm would be ideal for a stockish roady 4age, 36mm for a cammed / ported one.
  13. The 40 / 45mm is just the body size of the carb and defines what size chokes you can run, it is the chokes that determine flow / airspeed, theoretically you could run a 600cc engine on twin 45s if you had chokes small enough
  14. Sorry I just don't understand why you want to swap for a 40mm carb, it will do nothing, absolutely zero, except limit you if you ever want to do engine mods. It is the choke size that matters not the carb size, you can run a 1300cc pushrod K series on 45s just fine, it just requires 30-32mm chokes. Swapping a good set of 45s for an unknown (unless the are brand new) set of 40s is just going to potentially give you a sore wallet. Just get the 45s jetted and choked accordingly, they will be mint.
  15. you mentioned your tuner suggested DHLA40's were too big, I suggest your tuner didn't quite mean that or he doesn't know whadeestalkinabeet. Most 1600s that run a twin sidedraught setup will run twin 40s to provide room for engine modifications. The size of the carb (40-45) means nothing other than what main venture (choke) size it can run. a DHLA40 can take a maximum of a 36mm choke, whereas a DHLA45 can take up to a 40mm choke. A 1600 engine that makes peak power a 7500 rpm should run around a 34-40mm choke. A typical BDA choke for a 1600 would be 38mm for track and 36mm for rally. Maybe yours is choked a bit too big so is losing port velocity down low. Id suggest taking it to a decent carb tuner with a dyno and getting them set up right, it could make a world of difference.
  16. Yea all recommendations I am hearing now say to stay away from doubles. Don't go too much seat pressure either or it will rob all of the neddies and just fuck rocker gear. Kelfords sell a range of springs for reasonable prices depending on the cam it's got etc
  17. in more exciting go fast news OS's resident GC neal / khamal / threeonthetree just collected a second hand but barely used 5.1:1 CWP for me. Same as deeeeeeeeze nuts Hello 4200RPM at 100kmph haha, i actually might use 5th gear in competition now.
  18. nah no such white mans magic here. not very often we would both drive the same piece of road. I know a few places he was much faster, the downhill section to the finish was one of them, just after the finish there was a 4 right with a cliff off to the left, i lifted much earlier than him.
  19. yea about 4 seconds. Im pretty happy with that, this was only my 4th event and hes been rallying (mostly escorts) for 30 odd years. The footage from the event was pretty shitty, shaky and foggy cos of the wet, but i made a split screen comparison of both of our second runs. You can see he makes his speed with later breaking, carrying a bit more momentum around corners which allowed him to stay in 3rd, where i dropped to 2nd in a couple of them. Pretty much just bigger nutsacks really. But i rub my nuts on his daughter, so i win at the end of the day.
  20. That could be pretty ideal to be honest, I could get snow to profile them and see what sorta specs they are
  21. More not so exciting things, I got a super cheap deal on a terraphone professional intercom, 40 bucks mayyyyte. Lush thing about this is it has a audio output, so I can plug it into my go pro for max swearword crash antics. I'm going to mount the go pro on the bottom of the intercom. Got some aliexpress 12v -5v usb converters so I can hardwire the go pro in cos the batteries are super shit. So just for the purpose of form rather than function I replaced the wheel with a sweet little sportline one, makes the car look a bit more period than the rice wheel, again I can't go bigger than 320mm to fit my fat knees.
  22. So had the last sprint of the DCC sprint series in this thing a few weeks ago, car was going well, wet greasy day. My father in law and I both dual drove the car so was good to see what it is capable of. Lots of sideways fun like this - Managed to win this for the series- deeeze are the results of the day, i was pretty bloody happy to only be a fraction of a second of Rhys, and dealt to a few 4age powered cars with my whopping 64hp. Father in law (chris lancaster) fucking cleaned up, finished mid pack, and almost won b class 1300-1600 also! shows what experience and big nungas can do so after i got home i decided i wanted more than 64hp and curiosity was killing me to find out what the cam specs were, as the dyno told me thats whats holding it back, so got home and pulled the cam out - reprofiled on the left, stock on the right turns out the cam spec is weak as Sparkle, almost stock cam lift (ignore valve lift, muppet fucked up the rocker ratio) and feck all duration. Trying to come up with a new profile for this now, but im currently broke for a while so dunno when the grind will happen. Cosworth A2 my asshole also did some recent mucking around with a navigators console for a couple of gauges, button switches for wipers and the horn, and space for a trip meter- have also decided when i do the cam im going to bin the fucking shit, unequal length, tiny primary, 4 into 1 and tuned for almost 9000rpm cobys and make a set of tuned 4-2-1 extractors. Played around with some potential cam specs and got some pipe diameter and length numbers here, hopefully this happens over the next couple of months. Will bang them together and get them HPC'd
  23. even if your space the other side so that your pivot point is the same on each side you will still have bump steer issues as anglia4 said becuase you are still changing your pivot points in relation to lower control arm pivot points. You could change all of these to get it perfect but would take a lot of design and fuckery
  24. Yea all of the yes, cool that someone has jammed a swaybar and stuff on it. Bum about carbs but I'm sure you will have no trouble finding injection gear for that Lucas injection lushness. Will be a cool project. Seems to be a few interior options from U.K ones, some are a cloth material like Richie's old one. All PIs are genuine leather as far as I'm aware, I have only seen actual leather on PIs, vinyl on the rest of the models. What's your plans with it. By the way my father in law is loving his blue S he brought off you, has tidied it up mechanically with new bushes pretty much everywhere and new shocks etc. it handles so nice, way nicer than my Pi.
