Long time luser first time caller. I can't get it to react to some simple input from sensors if i have more than one sensor. All i want it to do is output for a certain amount of time, possibly adjusted to the speed of the input signals, while scanning for new inputs but if i add more than one input, nothing happens. I think it's in my code.

What about vinyl wrap the vinyl? i might be over-estimating what's possible.

Avenga's 1UZ V8 powered 1980 Avenger Wagon
Ghostchips replied to Avenga's topic in Project Discussion
That wasn't a rag joint. That was just rubber. Gumboots aren't even good rag joints by the way. I know this as i used one for an exhaust hanger and while it had lots of rag it finally tore. After a week. -
Tech Spam thread - because 1/4" BSP gets 5 hand spans to the jiggawatt
Ghostchips replied to Roman's topic in Tech Talk
This works, but when the battery dies again it's pretty dead. In saying that I have a jdm battery that I can push start a car with after 12 months of sitting that had the Epson salt treatment. -
That blue patch looks like a swimming pool, they have really bad traction. Will his car be able to get out of it?

Depends what you're trying to preserve & what it's like underneath. A plastic scotchbright pad will dull shiny paint but will also remove loose paint, if you've seen my car lately you'll see i just mixed turps & linseed oil & brushed it on, dries to a matt finish & brings old paint back to life, for a short time, then it goes yellow or brown tinged as it oxidizes. Clearcoat doesn't do that. I've heard people prefer a semi-matt clearcoat as opposed to a gloss.
-
So i hope this means you're back in the country. Are you going for the restored look or get it mechanically right & revel in the scruffy missing interior & trim look? Maybe scuff off the worst flakes & linseedoil/clearcoat it to preserve the 'history'? It's pretty liberating not having to worry about keeping something perfect.

That's not the spirit, you'd do it thumb your nose at people who say it couldn't be done. And you do it well. -
Fibreglass, Carbon Fibre, Paper Mache - The composites chat thread
Ghostchips replied to Roman's topic in Tech Talk
Is carbon fiber conductive? I would make a coil housing from it but suspect it might arc constantly and not work. -
Did i tell you how i can a car with stripped headbolts with compression coming out the rear of #4 cylinder? 'Oil' would drip out the back where it was losing compression but it went fine for years. Finally fixed it properly. You might find it runs well with that leak for a long time.

RockAuto is really low on stock, wonder why. Factory drop spindles still available, used. No UK spec' ones available though.... NZ got canada spec ones. -
If in doubt, use regular sealed beams or whatever you can find to get the cert' and install the other ones later. These ones are compliant but look funny Hella Lights that look like bugs eyes
-
You can run them if you can prove to the WOF guy the reflectors are "LED approved" or something. Basically print off that page and zoom in on the part number on the face, use it as your defense.

Douse the edges with shellac? -
Not registered at the moment, unless you mean the roadster which i thought was more boattail.
-
Carpool in your car? i don't mean swimming pool in the car from rain. i don't have a car that'd make it that far road legal right now.

Nothing yet but i thought of a magneto charger, in the absence of a generator. -

I struggle to imagine these handling 10 amps on their own https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10-Pcs-Active-Components-Diodes-10A10-Rectifier-Diode-10A-1000V-Charging-Diode-AMP-Silicone-Rectifiers/32841145533.html Wonder how long it would be until they pop? Can't be a continuous rating.. -

Power diodes is what you need. Solder a bunch of these in parallel. -
That weird, i took a 1920's car in & they wanted to take my doors apart to look at the side intrusion bars, that it doesn't have, because 1920. I told them they they're idiots. i think they believed me too.

I know someone who wants that scooter. -
If you know someone who can weld and set the H4 filaments to focus where the sealed beams filaments basically were you'll be almost there. Just need the reflector coated. I cheated & put 'chrome' vinyl wrap on mine. Works wonders, nobody noticed they're not actually silver coated.

If you're serious i have used a copper plate faced with a kitchen sponge soaked in copper sulfate and connected to a battery charger to wipe copper plating on things.
-
I've done stuff like that in a bath with a big bag of copper sulfate. Oxidizes pretty quick though.
