  1. yip, seen that one. 24v and spendier than i hope to spend. there is this one: http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=901161295, but would need someone to pick-up, strip essentials and freight down to me. price is right, but would expect to owe me many times that price once in Timaru. i have found a suitable? ram at local scrappies, and did find what i hoped was a hilux P/s pump, but reckon it is L200. does use remote resivour though, but as you mentioned, unsure if vane pump gonna do the business??
  2. stockcar guys have pushed the price of those electric P/S pumps through the roof
  3.  thats good to know. they are as common as mud, might even have one stashed in a box in the bowels of my shed quote name="Dolan" post="1534719" timestamp="1433981131"] are you wanting it to be tipping just so you can have a spot to chuck ya spare wheel that's not on the deck itself? that's how i read your post? if so, perhaps a low profile roofrack to chuck it up on would be the go? not ideal if you get a puncture and have a load that you need to tip off the deck to get at the spare want a tipping deck for ease of unloading, as well as access to best available space for spare wheel and keeping weight low roof rack idea would have merits, but will get in the way when the soft-top is rolled back for spotlighting rabbits, possums etc
  4. airbag not suitable, as i want to run auxillary rams later....... if i go hydraulic. will get it hinged for a start so i can mount spare wheel, but it really needs mechancal tipping as will be doing plenty of firewood etc with it, as i am clearing broom, blackberry, bracken etc
  5. ok, so i have bought a certed 2-door flat deck vitara for our Catlins block clearing mission. i need to make the deck tipping, as there is no other suitable position for the spare wheel apart from a cradle above fuel tank, and there isn't enough room to slide it under deck. options are: 12v pump/resiviour off small taillift/wheelchair hoist , engine driven pump struggling to find a 12v unit cheaply, used to give these away 5 years ago !!!, so engine mounted could be next cheapest option. if it is engine driven, can i replace existing P/S pump and run steering on hydraulic fluid as opposed to ATF ? alternatively , would a P/S pump provide enough pressure to run a small hydraulic ram or 2 ?
  6. i am using procomp/profuel(cfr) rotary type adjustable reg for both the DHLA40,s and now 45's on Levin as i was advised non-adjustable ones can still over fuel
  7. ^^this. looks like a T50 fork, as i have only seen cast forks for the W50, there may be a pressed steel option ?
  8. cos i'm a cheap cunt, i use heavy duty deisil inserts for the rally car, but am not running super stiff front springs like you want to. may be an option for you
  9. fuck, dosn't get much more basic than that............. i likey. guessing the boat is the brace or is it for ultra short distance tows ? looking to build similar for my Cod-Botherer to free up the super heavy duty trailer it currently on.
  10. haha, is that ^ a photo for rust repair cert!!!
  11. he's done a few, and is MSNZ tech. we got a MK2 Esky kit off him with the notation: ' if it dosn't fit correctly, the shell is bent', it didn't and it was !!
  12. main rollbar: original size (X) 38.1 Reduction (A) 37.9 Exspansion ( 38.4 front rollbar: X 38.1 A 37.9 B 38.5 one of Dave McCahon's pre-bent kits as fitted to my TE71 Levin
  13. geometry aside, using KE/AE style struts/LCAs unlocks far better shock absorber options, swaybar options, steering arms etc
  14. i recall using KE70 LCA and sway bar set-up on a starlet track-car during it's build. unsure of the outcome as the main builder fucked off to Aucks to hide from his debts. KE70 uses bigger balljoint allowing KE/AE steering arms and struts/brakes. i have plenty of these parts of you want to borrow and have a mock-up.
  15. any idea of the PCD ? is the 5 stud Coon ryums fit, then they would be 5 x114 making them very common, the early coons were 4x114, still very common. if 5 x108 then early Holden would be a source.
  16. te71 still got the ol' shitter, but it ain't as shiney noes more
  17. only thing i had to do with it , was getting served a hiding from it !! Andy Ried and Dave Fletcher took turns running it and rallied quite extensively in the Mainland series. yes, white with green and blue. linky to their website: http://teamrfr.tripod.com/TeamRFR/teamhome.html
  18. so the ol' jigger has re-surfaced, on Oldschool. am currently trying to dig out some old photos and footage from early 2000's when Team Reid/Fletcher used it extensively around the south Island. did you get it from the Camerons ?? or did Sheldon Rush have it for a bit ?
  19. have you nipped 1/4" off each of the vacuum lines and re-fitted ?
  20. could be worse....... living in Timaru and owning house and 6 acres in the Catlins taht i can't spend enough time at, as there is fuck all work down there to pay bills. regarding your issue, i would ring Carter Strang (strang auto), in wallacetown. he's built plenty of them for race/rally use and should able to point you in the right direction.
  21. hoping for my place to be permanent before long. the valley i am in has shittly copper and the rural postie would be quicker than email !!
  22. what bunch of theives. fucken near cheaper to get it trucked up from Timaru. I was quoted $300/m3 for 25Mpa, but it was a 2 1/2 -3hour return trip from Balclutha to site in Catlins........ and appearantly i can get it cheaper from another company i didn't know existed paradise found !! have no intention of phone or webz at my Catlins retreat for many years. neighbours have phone for emergencys and i can shoot down the end of the valley for cell coverage.
  23. interested in the out come of this. if the FE/C can't be re-vinned as what it is, i am thinking of fitting it to my RN57 Hilux which is still reg /wof
  24. if the Jag run 2 of these units on each corner, then you will need to be double the spring rate. take a spring off, and take it to a decent suspension shop as they should have a jig for measuring the rate of the spring then almost double it. i would be heading to an olschool suspension/alignment place preferably that has either hotrods/race or speedway cars lurking, then they may actually know what they are talking about......... instead of some zitty faced fucker who uses NZPC mag as a reference manual.
