I agree. Otherwise it’s really pushing its legality, physical engine size and performance wise. Hate to be the one to ruin 01 class rules. However wr200 powered would be great for off-road!

Axle cross often refers to the universal joint in the front driveshaft, although being ‘76 this shouldn’t have those and will have conventional CV joints I would have though. The other thing that can make a clunk in the driveline of these is the supporting bush inside the steering rack. My 1300 did this for a long time. Heard it right through the floor. Nolathane/Superpro still make this.

Rusteds 2 wheeled rust hording farm projects
GuyWithAviators replied to Rusted's topic in Two Wheels
cdi over points anyday. No need to set gaps or anything. Also CT90 won’t bolt in unfortunately, they have a different bottom mount. Not hard to change but when a direct fit is available why bother The Lifans we buy from shore50s in NZ come with everything you need to start it. -
Rusteds 2 wheeled rust hording farm projects
GuyWithAviators replied to Rusted's topic in Two Wheels
I was very tempted by this when I saw it advertised. A Lifan brand engine will bolt into this. They’re a Chinese copy of the Honda horizontal and go extremely well. Aliexpress and webike have almost every part you need to rebuild and upgrade this too. Longer swingarms, the whole works! Great project. -

1987 Toyota hiace superglow glow plug questions....
GuyWithAviators replied to yoeddynz's topic in Tech Talk
My HJ60 ‘85 Landcruiser had a version of super glow. Some of them even used 6v glow plugs etc. Timer died and the old batteries only survived 2 mornings of constantly cranking to get it to start. Great white smoke chooching into black though. @mo999 bypassed the timer and just fitted a push button which I’d hold for a few seconds to start. -

http://catalog.vesrah.co.jp/list/product_parts.asp Find shoe part # and size here. I tend to give the inside of the drums a clean and scuff up with brakecleaner and sandpaper to help with sick rear brake skids.

Port Waikato looks like a great ride. Keen when I gear my Yamaha up for highway cruising. Lol I’d forgotten about getting my truck stuck there. Since found out it only had 2wd then.

My old man @mo999 has one in Kaiapoi. I’m sure he’d be happy to let you use it / have a sharn about how BMC A series engines are superior to Datsuns

Different model to yours but reminded me of what you’re doing with these ol’ hogs. Come make my V90 work better pls.

GuyWithAviator's 1974 Austin 1300
GuyWithAviators replied to GuyWithAviators's topic in Projects and Build Ups
Moved to Tauranga. Drove this down from Auckland one evening. Got pulled over in Paeroa and told off for rego on hold, cop was a Barry though so loved it. Havent used it much here though, just been chilling in the garage. Carb needs a decent tune so started on that today. Parked up in town for some lunch and came back to this... #JustADO16things LF displacer let it’s juice out. It was a NOS one i picked up a couple years back so I guess the rubber just perished over the time when it was dry and let go now. Believe it’s around the hose crimp. looked cool on the drive home though. Left outer CV feels like it’s binding up at this height though. So juddery under power and engine braking. Can hear something going on down there. Boot is split so will replace that too. So, things to do for next wof; Replace displacer - I have a good spare here. Change CV joint / boot. Replace L handbrake cable - again have spare. Remake exhaust mounts - wire isn’t cutting it now. Tune crab. Ignore rust.- 105 replies

I’m fizzing for this. Just picked up my Honda’s new seat. Soooo lush. Better than the metal tank I’ve been sitting on up until now. Have also sold this bike, dropping off to it’s new owner Sunday, so last ride for this wee hunny!
