escorts have a special ballast wire built into the loom remember too that escorts have a 1,2,4,3 firing order not 1,3,4,2 like 90% of other four cyl engines

so which route are you waikato guys taking im hoping to head strait to kopu via tearoha paeroa too far to go to bombay first car is uncomfortably loud to travel too far in you have to yell at each other to talk or does that mean im getting too old -
i have found a trick that works also release both bleed nipples at the front top up the fluid then sit down and have a few beers the while gravity lets the fluid slowley go down the brake lines and leak out the nipples starts the fliud motion works well on minis which are a bastard to bleed too

no worries . yea denso alternators are wierd like that
-
there should be constant battery power at the main power lead ign feed to ign sense should be also constant feed and warning light should have ign feed also through the bulb. double check to see if you have constant battery feed to the main stud. check also that the alternator is earthing i have come across some older jap cars where the alternator bracket is rubber mounted to the block and the earth strap has broken not saying yours is but pay to check. also if it is a denso alternator you must have the battery feed connected before you plug in the plug. for some fucked up reason denso alternators need to be connected in order to make them charge.

get a programable tacho like vdo and run it off the alternator you can also get a tiny tach which you zip tie a sensor to the injector line both pricy though

nissan l16 or l18 crank are a factory steel crankshaft and they fit with a bit of machining to block and crank
-
easy to tell 1600 box from 2 litre. steel top 2litre alloy top 1600 different ratios between the 2
-
ive built my own pedal box copied of a gartrac changed the brake pedal ratio and and have adjustable bias. dont want a booster i like to feel the pedal. Im only gonna run standard brake discs on front to start with then will later update to vented discs. the Brakes arnt to bad in an escort anyway they are a farily light car. For rear im running aw11 mr2 rear calipers havnt yet decided on the discs yet either mr2 or civic will see because i still want to retain 13" wheels

the last one i bought cost me bout $270 was 5 or 6 years ago they not cheep but blow like a hurricane will see if i can find out who sells them. i scored mine from a farm refrigeration guy http://www.autoair.co.nz/shop/Shop+By+p ... F3533.html

best cooling fans i have found are TRIPAC band used them in speedway way more sturdy and heaps of airflow from what iv learnt the best most powerful fans are directional curved blade non reverslble ones http://www.tripacintl.com/Forward_Skew_ ... L12R9.html

i have just scored a hilux diff head with what looks to be a spartan diff locker in it anyone had any experience on the driveabilty of these diffs on the road want the car to be fun to drive but not dangerous (missus will drive it too). build has slowed down now for a while due to funds got the brake system almost complete. Driveshaft getting made at the moment also on the look for some 2litre capri struts decided the v6 struts will be too much hassle for future brake upgrade. parts list is getting shorter though just need 2litre capri struts new brake hoses driveshaft hoop rear caliper mounts axles modified for escort stud pattern hydraulic release bearing paint and lots of reassembling to do so wont be xmas this year but surely next fingers crossed

yay one point 4 me
-
i have found starter motors to jam on the ring gear if the bushes are stuffed try turning the motor over backwards by hand to release starter from ring gear or pop the starter out and check to see the pinion returns back
