Ok well im a clueless 18 year old girl with a vauxhall chevette that starts rattling when the revs are high... it feels as if its not sparking properly... it makes it a massive pain driving up hills as I have to do it in 4th gear otherwise it feels like its going to explode.... oh and also it also stalls at traffic lights, when idle for short amount of time.... help please!

Some little part in the distributor stopped working so it wasn't sparking right.... all fixed now so hopefully it'll be algood (touch wood!)

Haha yeah I reckon! Yup I'm pretty sure. Was driving fine but after being on the motorway for a few km it kinda seemed like it wasn't sparking right. Had just got onto the motorway and I had another 10km til the next turn off.... The mechanic is coming this morning cos my dad can't figure out what it is so i'll keep you posted when I find out I've had it since march last year and it never caused me problems until about august this year! My muffler broke, starter motor and now this hahaha. Too attached to get rid of it though!

So had to get towed off the side of the motorway today cos it decided to putt putt on me hahahahah oh the joys of old cars

My chevette used to do this, I turned up the idle revs and now it's algood!

Yeah it was! We decided the wheels would look pretty faggy on the car and everyone has been saying to keep the rostlyes so that's what we've done!

Lights don't dim, when I turn it on everything functions normally except the engine. Tried jump starting it and push starting it, had to tow it up my drive way because it was right in the middle also. Surely I would have noticed when I was moving it that it was overheating if it was seized? ahhhh hate being carless!

I think that's what my dad tried to do! it didn't turn over though.. When I turn it on the radio starts and the power lights come on, but the engine does absolutely nothing, it doesn't even make a noise. My second guess would be the starter motor? We tested the battery and it was fine

I don't really know much about cars, is this easily fixable? haha such a pain in the ass

This afternoon I went to turn on my vauxhall chevette and it didn't do anything, my dad had a look and the motor is seized apparently. It's weird cos it was running fine when I was driving it an hour earlier. After the drive I moved it into the garage to vaccuum, moved it out and it was fine. Then not long after it won't turn on. Does anyone have a clue what might have happened? and how much/difficult it would be to fix..
