Chch Bbq/working bee. Sun4th Feb.

I have been talking with @daveyc123 about getting his viva finished and Wof'd after seeing his posts in the help/depression thread. 

I'm heading over on sun 4th of Feb with another member (i dont want to tag him incase his commitments change and he feels obligated) but thought I'd put it out there incase anyone fancies a bbq/working bee afternoon. I'm very happy to supply some saussys and warm beers for the cause and load my ute up with as many tools/jacks/sharns as I can gather. 

I've been and seen the car and it needs a few things like window seals, weatherstripping,  electronic ignition fitting, electric fans, a carb tune up etc and probably the brakes and wheel bearings given a check up as the car hasn't seen the rd in a few years.  

I'm very happy to do this on my own as i said I'd help out but thought I'd put it out there incase anyone feels the same. He lives burwood/Shirley.   (I have already cleared this with him)

Keen, will confirm. I may even have a socket set with BritUNCworth something or others. Will cheerfully rewire to -ve earth for proper Brit electron handling.

Working on a car with a bunch of guys/few beers is incredibly cathartic. Plus this is very close to me. So id be a totalPOS if i didnt.

Absolutely. 

Also It might be one of your old BBQs in the back of my ute on the day ,so there's that to consider.

Just my hand tools at the moment, I'll probably put the toolbox in the ute, it's basic cheap brand stuff but it's got me this far. A few sets of spanners and sockets. I don't have a battery impact etc. I have a couple of jacks, axle stands, ramps. I'm tempted to pack the welder incase there's any rust under the screen but not sure how ambitious that would be. Still  I have a mig and plenty of scrap sheet steel if needed. Hopefully not though. 

Davey said he'll sort the beers and sausages too.

Do you know a rough start time? Not needing exact times, just easier for me personally to ditch other commitments now rather than on the day and get frowny face.

Will dig out some tools to bring. But if there is something you know you need that you don't have maybe chuck it up so people can bring.

I have ball joint splitter, some oil filter cup sockets, electrical stuff etc

Around midday start at a guess, without speaking for him. I will ask and confirm.  

Great idea on the tools. I'll have a think about what jobs can actually happen and the tools needed etc and make a list.

Dang, most of us wounders are out of town doing another shit car challenge that weekend, otherwise would love to help.
